Doesn't sound like there will be much more coming in, does it? I still think we're lacking in depth in one or two places.

I reckon just a couple of cheaper premier league / championship loans.

I'd be really surprised if we didn't have any loans when the window closes, when would the last time that happened have been?

Strange comments from Robins re needing to do well in cup competitions to sign anyone? Confused by what he means

Presumably this means we can strengthen in January if we progress in the Cups.

Not a very positive comment from Robins - 'We’ve done what we set out to do in the window, I’d still like to do something, but we have to be realistic we’ve what we’ve got' Sounds like some he is disappointed by what he actually finally got and his top targets never materialised

How on earth do you read that from “we’ve done what we set out to do”??

You could read into it in many ways. Fact is the less people that go to the Birmingham games this season, the less income, so the main way to get more income is to have more games so the overall attendance throughout the season increases.

Why does it often appear no one asks questions about when our injured players will be back?

Allen...Kastaneer?!

Not really. Another 1k on the gate over a season is equal to a sellout cup game against Prem opposition. Which we’d be unlikely to get most seasons.

Love that all the players are just saying 'promotion' at every interview. It's obviously what's being drilled into them behind the scenes.

I think it's been a great summer of business, all signings have been permanents and all apart from Godden have been in since day 1 or 2 of pre season.

Still think we will get a loan signing in.

How can we get a press pass?

Can we just set up a YouTube channel so we don’t have to rely on CWR?

It is exactly the same after the games, they never ask Robins the questions that we the fans would want to ask him. I always laugh because Robins himself sounds irritated that they don't ask him good questions.

To be fair the ‘realistic with what we’ve got’ could be perceived as a negative, but I don’t think it was intended that way.

If we want to over analyse snippets the no loans ‘at the moment’ stood out to me. Hopefully we will see one or two Premier/Championship players coming in. Our record in the loan market has been good, so let’s hope it continues.

Surely just means that a cup run is extra money on top of what is budgeted so if we do well we have an increased budget in January.

I read the 'realistic with what we've got' in terms of finance and budget not playing squad.

Is this serious? You know there are 3 cup competitions?

League cup, checkatrade and FA cup. All of which we could play multiple rounds in. All of which we would get money for progressing in. The league cup especially as it's finished by February.

I wonder if Robins is trying to manage expectations of the fans. Though not really his fault the Bright situation has been disappointing. Coming out firing saying we're going to get two more in and then failing to deliver will be a bit of a blow. Under promise and over deliver. At least I hope so anyway.

We have just spent 750k on a striker! Maybe that was the money saved up to use on bright as surely he'd be given that now bright has gone Wigan

“There’s Dom behind us and Dom’s a really good player, he’s pushing us, he’s been a bit unlucky not to start the season which I’m sure he thinks that as well. It’s good for competition and may it continue.”

Interesting from Mcfadz. Maybe him and rose are now our 2 main CB's with Hyam dropping to number 3

I’m sure Robins said earlier in the window that he had 2 specific targets and if he didn’t get them he wouldn’t rush in to a panic buy. We missed out on both (Bright and Walker) but he’s brought in Godden, who seems an ample replacement for Chaplin (fingers crossed he does the business). So, I’m inclined to agree with you.

Read a transcript of this on Facebook and Robins said he expected a couple of players to leave which would free up additional funds

I think we have to try to understand the competing and conflicting requirements on MR when he speaks to the media. He wants fans to think we’re ok for money and rivals (and potentially sellers of players) to think we’re skint AF.

If he says we’ve got money he’ll get his (the club’s) pants pulled down when he talks transfers, if he says we’re skint and can’t afford anything he gets fans on his back.

Tough gig.
