Interesting that Gus worked on in training a flaw in one of your players.

What do you make of it as you lot might be a better judge of it.

He's spot on and I have noticed this too. I think Clingan is a negative player that always looks backwards before he looks forwards. He does not look for other players until he has received the ball and therefore is not prepared for a first touch lay off or a quick incoming challenge. Numerous times in each match he passes back when he has plenty of time to turn and progress forwards. I believe he should not be our captain and personally I would be thinking of dropping him to the sidelines with Deegan in favour of him.

You do realise that had Clingan not given the ball away we would've come home with a point don't you? And you know what points make..........Survival.

Unfortunately, Sammy Clingan has done a lot of passing without looking this season. Not sure what's up with him this season.

I care about that matey, very much! I don't care for a Brighton fan spelling that fact out for us after defeat though. There's a touch of salt in the wounds about this post. Haha

Only caught it briefly on that shit late night saturday football show, but did look like he had loads more time to do something better than pass it backwards, maybe wrong but only caught it briefly.

That is shocking that they knew Clingan passes the ball across the back four without looking. If they know it then we as a club should know it too and do something about it. We as fans of course have seen it happen before.

As much as I hate to say it. I think it shows a basic lack in Thorns managerial ability.

Well this is basic football. Can't believe this to be honest at all. Quite stunning. Seen Clingan play this sort of ball before, but always thought he was looking but hadn't spotted an opposition forward. If he's simply just passing without even looking for any danger then I cannot believe Clingan is an international footballer.

Does make you wonder whats going on, maybe it's the ronaldino trick look one way and hit the ball a differant way, surely this is not being trained on? If not has this been spotted by Thorn?

Of corse this was a mistake by Clingan but some of these comments are making me laugh.

Clingan is a player that people were saying is the "main cog in our team" + "if clingan leaves, we are DOOOMED" when rumours were high about us selling him... just a few months ago, I must add.

Talk about being fickle. Every player will make mistakes, especially when confidence is so low at the moment. Try and remember the good points as well.

Where's the fickleness? People did say he was the main cog in the team. That is perfectly true. This season however he has been poor and he has had 17 and 18 year old's overtake him in the midfield performance stakes.

He is poor at the moment and I would drop him. Also think you miss the point somewhat. Yes players make mistakes, but the opposition knew he was going to do this before he even did it. This isn't a simple mistake, this is basic football fundamentals.

When players play well they are lauded, when they play badly they are rightly critisised.

Just from my side of the tracks. I do not like his style, have never rated him and would sell him in an instant even if sisu took all the money from the sale.

Thing is he has all the right attributes. Really struggle to think of any game he has totally controlled though. Never seems to have a complete game for us.

No, we believe that with the players available nobody would keep us up.

As for Sammy, he's clearly "checked out" as he's running his contract down.
