long time of no posting!! So apologies if this has been mentioned before. But.
Today was the first game I did differently - me and friends arrived by train, and didn’t feel rushed (although did feel like lemmings packed into a 2 carriage train both ways).
however.
post match we hung back. No rushing, and took advantage of the post match fans zone.
bars remained open. And it was busy. Even at £3.60 minimum a pint, we have to earnt a bit from this.
live entertainment with a one man band as a guy with his guitar, and he was actually really good value!
the vibe post match was so good!
Whether that is through King alone or those working with / for him, keep that good work up!

It's as if there's a businessman running the commercial side!!
If the beers decent and there's enough bar staff then why wouldn't you put the money into the club coffers?

Nice to be able to actually get a beer after the game rather than queue 40 minutes at the casino bar

We initially tried to get in via the statue but was directed to the first gate next to it which stayed open. Anecdote was packed so grabbed a drink from the concourse, then heard the one man band (guy and his guitar but did some great covers).
Saved the rush back, even if we were still then packed on the train like lemmings after

But was definitely a great plan to entice fans to stay that little bit longer and boost the penny jar!

It was just brilliant yesterday. Hats off to Doug , great to see so many fans having a pint after. With the A444 closed after the game this is a stroke of genius

Similar vibe to the aftermatch at the buts without the players mingling.

Yeah really enjoyed being able to hang back afterwards, have a pint and let the crowds die down. Took the chance to stroll round the concourse (found the infamous chip shop!) and happened across the lad and his guitar just as he played WLADITT which got everyone going. Was nice to take a moment and take in how far we've come.

Annoyingly couldn't partake in the £3.60 pints as I had to drive last night but the atmosphere before and after the match was fantastic. I hope this initiative continues

Having something before and after in the exhibition hall would be mint. Folks whose kids don't like pubs yet could pile in there. Hope this is what they're building up to.

All part of Doug’s Masterplan. Close the roads after the game, trap the people in, people spend more money.

Winger incoming in Jan.

Were the food outlets open after too then?

I just love all these signs that we are now a well owned and well run club. Every week it feels like something is happening for the better whether it be new scanners at the turnstiles, cheap pints, big concerts in the bowl for the summer, bars staying open after the game with entertainment. It’s great time to be a city fan - sometimes I feel so proud in the seat before the game that it brings tears to my eyes 🩵

Enjoyed it opening before and the £3.60 pints is enticing people, as I heard so many people say things like ‘it’s £3 a pint, why not’ etc - so the price is attracting people.

One thing they absolutely need to sort is the speed of the queues. More people might want a pint, but if they can’t get served it’s a loss of money and potentially put people off trying again. This is especially poor as with prices being cheaper they need to serve more people.

Second, and not as big an issue, I had no idea there was a singer on! I’m block 20 and it was great to have a pint, but as people started to leave it started to feel a bit empty. Maybe they try and push all fans to the same sets of bars post game to keep an atmosphere going. Obviously this will be numbers dependent!

The four of us felt that the cider was watered down, we have 2 different types so couldnt really call it a one off. But didnt spoil what was otherwise a perfect day

Cheap pints at the bar, curry stand and live music after a 3-0 win, brilliant! Plenty were in there too very good. Hope we go back to those stronger reusable plastic cups though, much better to drink out of. Anecdote was packed and the concourse had a better atmosphere will do that again

They were. Didn't notice anyone with food but I'm assuming they were selling it and not just beer

Just look at that. Winning 3-0 obviously helps but it's great to see, that was about half hour after the game

We stayed behind at the stadium in Brighton a few years ago after the cup game there. They also sold off the food at half-price moving towards closing time which obviously prevents waste. Good to see the matchday experience being enhanced.

That's a great initiative and something that might catch on/ @Sky Blue Pete might be worth taking to the next fans forum. Win-win on sales and good PR to reduce waste.
