1. We didn't lose to a very strong team and put in a decent effort today.

2. Baker was excellent. Got to be the first time in his Sky Blue career that he has put in two very good performances in a row.

3. Two matches unbeaten.

4. Home form continues to be good.

Negatives

1. 2 points from 2 home games
2. 0 points from last load of away games
3. next 2 games are away

For me positives:
1). we continue to pick up points (or a point) while those around us struggle to manage even that
2). puts us in good stead when we still have to play those around us which will be crucial for us
3). finally looking like a team that will battle for 90 mins even if it is lacking in quality at times

negatives:
1). only 2 points from the last 2 home games when 3/4 would have been achievable and missed
2). 2 away games coming and still not 1 win away.
3). still in the relegation zone
4). still not putting away enough of the chances

"We continue to pick up points (or a point) while those around us struggle to manage even that."

Last 5 games Forest have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1. Last 2 games for Donny are a win and a draw. Is that struggling? :thinking about:

How is "The next two games are away" a negative from today's game ?

if they were at home, it would be a positive, but as they are away, this is a negative

at the end of the forest game, the positives would have included "we have some home games coming up"

Were they there to run the rule on City players you think? What reports will they take back to their clubs?

I reckon. Two thousand scouts just to watch Sammy Clingan run the show is a bit OTT.

1st half crap, both teams, second much better and a half decent performance from us, when are we going to learn though there are two halves to a game. Will we stop up in a word no, unless we can put back to back wins together.

It's not good enough though is it? 2 points from 6 at home when you have to win may be the nail in the coffin.

As I said before we MUST pick up points away from home or we will go down.

It's a decent result against Brum but Palace was the missed one.

Today merely proved we are good enough...so WHY Mr T are we so shockingly bad away from home....it's really down to you.

I've been saying we are down anyway.

That was a notion on here that we would win all our home games. Well that's two gone now. It was never ever feasible that we would win all our home games.

Agree Otis, cause that's football right? BUT we MUST pick up points away from home to survive. Others also have difficult home games - they are no different but we have to do what Forest have done of late, win at Brum unexpectedly, making sure they win today and win when they played us. We are failing to do these things.
An example is Watford. mid table we must go there and play like we did today second half and win. Anything less and even a 'good' point may not be enough.
One slight positive is we will be playing those around us and we must beat them and while we do pick up a point here and there like today, then there may be some hope. BUT that includes a couple on wins away.

Well I thought so too.

Thought he had a good game overall, but he was skinned a few times and gave away too many needless free kicks.

Positive performance, nice to see a crowd. Negatives, at least 4 points adrift with 2 away games to come, we re done

Nice to look over to the left and see people in the corner rather than a big sheet with Tesco emblazoned on it.

Well, a positive for me anyway as I tend to think on the whole he's pretty useless. He did alright today, but that's because he didn't have to cross the ball.

This is the problem for me and Thorn.

Clarke is OK but was perhaps culpable today for the goal.

Fact remains as I have said we need the more experienced players playing when fit.

Christie for me has a far superior all round game than Clarke and has played numerous games for us this season gaining that vital experience all the time.
He also is good going forward and crosses into the box.
So why when fit in a vital game as they all are now keep Clarke in the side?
Why would you not get the defensive partnerships back as soon as possible that have played together more often?

Also thought Deagan not playing was a mistake for game like today. Norwood's a good lad but when you look at it closely not particularly effective. Giving Deagan his head today in front of 22k would have been made for the pitbull.

One thing that did annoy me about Thorn and Harrison today was when we had a free kick quite deep in their half near to the touchline in front of the main stand. this was in the first half.

In that team today in the first half who were the players with heading ability or had a bit of height about them? Answer, Cranie, Cameron and Keogh. So what did we do? We left both Cranie and Cameron back by the half way line and Keogh took the kick.

He played a high ball into the box towards Baker, Sheff, Nimely, Norwood and McDonald.:facepalm: What was the point of that I ask? We should have sent at least Cameron into the box and Keogh too and let either Clingan or Norwood take the free kick.

Little things like that can make all the difference. All we did was allow the Brum defence to clear easily.

Christie has played too much this season, and I think it was clear to see that his game has deteriorated lately, hence AT taking him out the firing line.

Did you go on Tues when Clarke had a stormer and virtually kept the leagues 'form' winger in his pocket?"

Personally I think Clarke gets a tough press on here. He's an improving player and in the last 2 games has had to contain difficult opponents. I think he will be a reasonable player in div one.

Christie is the most inexperienced squad member. Has been over used by thorn when he had other options and his game has become fragmented as a result.
