So from my reckoning we had 2 leave and 5 come in in January. Plus 3 to the squad.
Those who had mass hysteria in August and January look predictably wrong as usual - and Clarke only actually left as he forced the issue.

Interesting to see how Elvis wants the team to play now he has had the chance to bring in 5 of his own players.

Yeah I'd agree with that and they don't half seem to be good players either.

Seabourne was already here and loans finished with Dagnall and Mcguire so in terms of squad size we are about the same as we were for the MK Dons and Crewe games. We will probably just be about ok to cope, although it would be nice to have 2 more players to be comfortable (A striker and central midfielder would be my choice).

We could probably cope with about 1 injury per position at the moment, so say Wilson, Thomas and Moussa were all injured at the same time we could just be about ok but if we get multiple injuries to the same position like two strikers injured or Thomas and Fleck out injured at the same time then we could be struggling.

That's a fair point ... it is really his first chance to stamp his mark on the team, by who he's chosen to bring in this time around ... albeit finance limited of course.

Would like to have seen a defender and another midfielder, but have to be happy with the quality of signings, providing we don't lose one of our key players.

Best signing of the window would be to keep Moussa and best deal of the window was £750k for the GB

1. I really don't care how much Leon went for....he was clearly a disruptive influence and was therefore rightly got rid of. We have seen in the past that if a player does not want to play then there is no other course than to off load.

2. I am concerned as SP has often said that he does not like loan signings and yet this is exactly what we have got. A lack of funds from above for perm. signings? Will this piss him off to the extent of stretching his commitment?

For most managers ... I can see where point 2 is coming from, but with him, I think Pressley genuinely and rather rarely in football, has morales and loyalty, so whilst it maywell have been his wish to buy, I think that the very fact he's brought people in, that he chose and was allowed too ... albeit on loan .. that will suffice him ... for now !

As for point 2. I think it was a case of getting in a better quality of player rather than signing a worse player on a perm. We could have probably signed Dagnall on a permanent but Pressley didn't see him as a long term answer, there was likely a few more that we could have signed but Pressley didn't think the player was right for the club.

Ah ever trying to prove a point, the last one was not in the first team reckoning. Face it another conspiracy theory explodes in your face, the sad thing about you is you would have hoped Christie and Moussa went so you could post another dull piece of diatribe.

I think the system SP plays means any striker worth his salt will get goals the amount of creativity and clear cut chances we have per game is a forwards dream keep what we have and I'm more than happy
And as stated above if you don't want to play for the team we don't want you bye bye Leon and good luck ( half black country half romany )

Scraping the barrel there G. Your arguments are getting very thin. You must do better in future. Remember that phrase from your school reports?

Hardly. Do they even bother with schools in Scunthorpe - let's be honest - what's the point.

I think the loss of Clark is a turning point in the season. I'm not saying we are going to plummet to the bottom or anything but I think the rest of the season is going to be a bit of a struggle now.

I'm not actually from Scunthorpe. I only have the pleasure of living here for the moment through work commitments and it is a lovely place to live. Don't knock it as I know you don't know it. My education is via Woodlands and Aston Uni.

Although he doesn't like loans he hasn't rushed into them. You could easily argue that a couple of these loan signings are with a view to making permanent if things go well. Not losing Christie this window is like one extra loan also

PUSB!

Done well to keep Moussa and Christie, will need them to ensure the threat of relegation is avoided. Wasn't there a thread the other day that listed all the players that will be out of contract by summer 2015. I seem to recall we'll only have 2 players then. I guess SISU have realised to their cost that giving players long contracts is only a good idea for the good players.

I do also partly think that this timeline of summer 2015 is when they will decide to call it a day, if they haven't realised their objectives by then.

Good window I think. To be honest, loans make sense as it's not like our future or budget past the close season is at all certain. Why restrict options if we're coming back and similarly why overspend if we're not?

Clarke had to go, Manset and Lobjoit were further from the first team than the kids.

I think Delfouneso and McGeough are excellent players and considering Clarke was done will improve the squad considerably. Will be interesting to see what happens when Wilson comes back, hopefully we've got 3 first team strikers for the first time since Manset was confirmed shit (other than Dagnall for a bit).

We've got two decent players in all positions, just a shame the playoffs looks unlikely compared to the start of the month.

Could be a good window for everyone who has anything to do with our club.

All the players seem to be more than capable at playing at our level. I say seem to be as I haven't seen any of them play. Might take them a bit of time to get going as well as they will all lack match fitness to start with. SISU will be happy as they will have raised enough from the Arsenal game and the sale of Clarke to pay the wages for nearly 12 months. SP has brought in a few players he wanted.

If these players settle in quickly we can go on a good run. We already have some good players. And the level of just about every club in this division isn't that good. It is our defence that has cost us. Pull this together and anything is possible.

Everyone's a winner!! We not sold anyone with intent for gain since Newcastle paid £1m for the guy I can't spell his name, some 18 months ago.

I heard at the time that Bigirimana wasn't happy anyway so you might even not count that. Out transfer policy since Thorn left is outstanding though. We just need a season without 10 points off...
