it is my understanding, replacing the existing pitch prior to pool being built is the binding condition. they have to have a replacement prior to loosing it.

Is that something from Sport England?

By the end of the bit I read they're on about how attractive they must be to a sugar daddy if there is financial trouble

As much as I love to see them lot suffer, this really puts the spotlight back on our owners. Surely we can look at a long term deal for the academy and put that matter to bed but isn't this a great opportunity to barter a long term deal with Wasps at the Ricoh where we can get a share of the pie, even a joint ownership model maybe?

Its a shame, if we had a 50/50 deal at the start I think both clubs would be in a different place and probably the attitudes of the public would be different to both clubs.

Possibly for some Stu mate, so it's a fair point, but it's not true for everyone. I'd want no part of supporting the Wasps franchise, even if it was of benefit to CCFC.

I don't want to see Wasps genuine fans suffer, as they've had enough of that already - however I want their club out of the city because they don't belong here. As for the new, Coventry-based, Wasps fans, I'm sure they'll find something else to do on an afternoon if Wasps did go tits-up (as many of them will do if the team continues to struggle). The rugby team with Coventry in their name are doing quite well these days and could use the support, for example.

I also don't think Wasps will go splat any time soon, fwiw, but they're certainly wobbling a bit and whatever their CEO says I think this may be about finance as much as anything else. The one thing that Wasps really can't afford to do is to paint a negative picture to their investors. It's not just SISU who do spin...

Likewise Duffer, my guess is that Wasps may be just about coping on a day to day basis, however there is absolutely no room in the finances for further investment. I guess either ACL took a lot more investment to get on track or they banked on additional outside funds to pay for some of this extra stuff.

I hope City can follow this up with a bit of a guarantee about the academy.

That site is hilarious Wendyball, these watchers of synchronised cuddling do make me laugh. Hopefully one day another city will become more attractive to their owners and we can watch the convoy of coaches as they travel to their new home.

They need to accept they aren’t getting a new training ground because nobody was willing to pay for it for them

I agree now but I think if the deal was setup from the start I think perceptions would have been different. I don't want any club going to the wall but if there was one it would be these lot!

You'd probably find 'Wasps' would continue to exist in London if the Cov cuckolds weren't about any more, so not even sure the 'club' going to the wall would happen.

More this faceless, plastic entity.

I say this every time it comes up but I'll go again.

Why would you invest in part ownership of a business with a £24m(?) loan hanging over it that it has no hope of paying back?

Not sure how they could pack up and go back to London really? Maybe try somewhere else like Milton Keynes?

I think they will be here for years btw...

Well if they went pop, it'd be like RIchmond, where the club would retreat to a lower level and go back to its roots, I'd expect.

tbh it's all a bit irrelevant atm anyway. I can't for the life of me believe that in their own heads they haven't planned for a couple of years more to see how it all pans out.

Look for trends, not one-offs!

(and let's hope the trend leads to oblivion!)

Yes the £24 million is half share at full valuation so you pay £24 and I assume become liable for £17.5 million for half share of a loss making business.

Even a poster on there piss pot wasps forum has suggested that with the delay in accounts being reported, uncertainty over the bonds and a extension to the payments, training ground shelved and no news on a major sponsorship that there could be something happening.

CT have now put a new article on with what people want and oddly quotes people saying wasps are great and should stay.

I’ve responded and now the tossers are really showing their true colours.

“Wasps in sisu out” - well done Jeff

£7m for new training facilities or £7m on another years player wages, which gamble fails first.

In the last week I have heard the same rumour from two separate sources - both reliable and unconnected- that an announcement is imminent regarding the AHC and CCFC. Both sources were guarded and gave little away, although obviously privy to the same information. What I do gather is there is to be both investment in (although whether from the club or another party I'm not sure) and development of the Centre, and securing of the future of the academy. Not a lot I know, but apparently an announcement is expected very soon .
Please don't shoot the messenger guys! I'd wondered whether to post these crumbs for the inevitable debate - cynical and otherwise - or keep quiet, and chose the former to share what might hopefully be good news. We shall see.

What would happen, if sisu took an offer from Say, Hoffman. Then bought wasps out? We would still be renting our stadium to them this time lol - bet they ask for a mill a year

Perhaps the rumours of a fall out with the council are true. Perhaps the council has realised that Wasps' owners are just another SISU with a better PR team. Perhaps they've recognised that they have as yet failed to deliver any of the economic benefits they said they would when they took over?

Planning permission for wasps at Broadstreet was only temporary and ends April 2018.

Have to say, that answer would give more credence to them struggling to pay for it (or falling out with CSF) than anything up till now.

After all, didn't they narrow it down to there after an exhaustive search for a site?

My wife tells me that I shouldn’t be bitter and twisted and that I’ll never be truly happy whilst I’m wishing ill on others and she is of course absolutely right.
... this however makes me very f@king happy.

If CSF have got a bit more certainty over City's residency at AH perhaps Wasps have been told they need to offer us more, thus increasing the costs for whatever they want (or accepting a fairer share of facilities) and expediting the need to start whilst they still haven't raised funds. Clearly that can be twisted to not enough room but probably means something different.

I might have dreamt this but isn't the academy now externally funded by one of Hoffman's mates? Some chap from Stratford?
