Doh , can't believe i missed this threads birthday ,working away last week .In answer to Sick Boys post ,its not entirely unatural for fans of their club to expect their owners to do all that is possible to maintain the clubs Status in the highest possible echelon attainable .The Fair Play rules are designed for this but seem open to abuse ,so its it was suicidal for our club to cut the life support 2 summers back in the unilateral manner it did, when the rules were imposed overall this one.

I disagree with pretty much everything Pompey have done (and said, yes that's you Appleton...) over the last few years, but can't argue with their Trust's efforts to save their club.

Lot to do before that happens mind, particularly as they've only allocated 2.5m for football creditor debts when the administrator has already agreed over 8m...

Wed 08.00 - Appleton quote published - ‘I have got a job to do, I am manager of Portsmouth and I’ve got a huge, huge game on Saturday now against Bury.'

Wed 20.00 - Blackpool have confirmed the appointment of Michael Appleton as their new manager. Appleton has signed a one-year contract and leaves Portsmouth.

in his post match comments last night he said he knew nothing about the Blackpool job, hadn't been contacted etc etc. this morning he was off up there 'to visit family' and tonight he's their new manager. They must have seen him driving him in to town and decided to offer him the job on the spot!

It's not looking good for them, who's going to want the job? Will have to be someone with a connection to the club you would think.

Appy had a meeting with the trust the other day and he's straight off after that, fans down here are assuming that means he doesn't like what he sees in their bid. No one else can comment as no one else has seen any details as they still haven't published them. The trust were saying for months that they would release details if and when they were given preferred bidder status but that happened weeks ago and nothing. The one detail that is floating around (I can't confirm how true this is as I'm just going off what I'm hearing from the locals) is that the shortfall in the trust bids finance is being funded by a property developer and in return he will own the ground. Pompey will then rent it back from him. Think we all know how well that works!

It does seem like their Trust have lost a lot of er, trust by not publishing their bid details. I'd heard rumours of the property deal too. I gather they'd 'only' put aside 2.5m to settle players debts when Birch had already agreed 8.5m, so they've got to find some money from somewhere...

They will get the ten point deduction when they exit administration. Not sure what the difference is giving it them now or later tbh

As soon as they exit admin points are docked.

I do think its special treatment because all the help they have been getting is a joke and they are still bending the rules to suit them.

So only when they are safe from relegation by more than ten points they will exit administration. Cheating bastards

Er no...they exit administration when they find a buyer...and if they don't they get liquidated.

But the thing is how long can they stay in admin before liquidation?

So if they finish this season in admin, does that mean no points deduction?

Good point.

There has to be a time limit set surely?

Think they can only stay in admin for a year.

If the season ends before they exit admin, they're liquidated. I think it's that simple.

As far as im aware, they can stay in admin until a buyer is found or until the adminastrators decide that a buyer will not be found then the process of liquidation begins. The points deduction will be app, lied when they come out of admin. I am not entirely sure what happens if they get to the end of the year and they are still in admin. I presume the points would be deducted .

I doubt v much they've got the funds to last the season in admin.

With no owner, who's funding them at the mo??

Err.... do you really think a buyer would be announced until they are safe from relegation by 10 points? Did you just come down in the last shower?

I don't like the way they operate, but this isn't cheating.
10 points now or 10 points later is still ten points.

I though Balram Chainrai was showing an interest in becoming chairman again? The only news locally is the fact that Appleton has moved on to Blackpool.
