Couldn't happen here? Better believe it could - let what's happening at Pompey and Rangers be a warning and the reason the Sky Blue Trust is positioning itself to be ready if SISU do pull the plug.

What couldn't happen here? They're coming out of administration and the have a financier to take them forward?

What's wrong with that?

I fail to see why the Portsmouth trust is needed in this situation?

I think Chainrai's done a good deal there - very smart (not nice to the those owed money - but very smart all the same).

Again... Like I keep saying... there's always a buyer for a football club with a decent potential fanbase. We wouldn't go bust. We'd go deep in the shit, before the potential buyer took over - but we wouldn't go bust - it's just too much of an opportunity to simply 'close down'.

The important think to remember with the Portsmouth situation is that the players have to agree to write off some of there owned wages and agree reduced wages. Up until this point none of them have shown any sign of being happy to do that. There are a couple of there players who are more than I whole team.

Will certainly be interesting there in the coming weeks..

That's a bit rich coming from the rather rich Gordon Taylor who's on £1m+ a year and said he'd destroy bskyb if they didn't pay him (he got 400k) for phone hacking..

Edit: Taylor received 720k after his lawyers advised bskyb he wanted to be 'vindicated or made rich'. Nice bloke.

Appleton: '18 new players isn't enough. I've asked the Football League to provide funding for another 18,000. It's the only way we can be competitive in this division.'

Genuinely think the only way out for them would be liquidation. They need a fresh start.

They have found new investors a few times in the last few years. Where has it got them so far?

Yes, and he is owed 19m from last time. The only reason he is going back. How much will he waste on them trying to get his 19m back whilst having responsibilities on other monies due as well as future losses.

They have only just started going through the pains we have had for the last few years. How low will they go before they get things under control? Will they ever get to sort things out?

Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton 'frustrated' by cash crisis

Portsmouth manager Michael Appleton has admitted the club's ongoing financial crisis is increasingly "frustrating" as the new season draws closer.

Appleton had just eight first-team senior players at pre-season training on Monday but expects the majority of those to leave over the coming weeks.

Portsmouth cannot afford to keep any of their 10 contracted players - Tal Ben Haim, Greg Halford, Erik Huseklepp, Dave Kitson, Liam Lawrence, Hayden Mullins, David Norris, Luke Varney, Kanu and Aaron Mokoena

Striker Luke Varney and midfielder David Norris look to be the next players to leave Pompey, to Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday respectively, which would reduce Appleton's senior playing squad to six.

Pompey's boss could have an entirely new playing staff for the League One season opener against Bournemouth.

The club had former Chelsea defender Jon Harley and ex-Doncaster defender Mustapha Dumbuya on trial at training and more could follow.

With the club in administration he is still not able to sign any new players.
"There are times when you feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall," Appleton told BBC South Today.
Hi Micheal, and welcome to our lovely world
