To be fair, I've got a lot less and I got one on general sale. Never look at the CCFC emails but just went on when I thought they'd be on sale and got one, no issues.

This is part of the issue, and I'm not wanting to single Bury out, but a lot that moan about the points system and much of the noise is from people who don't travel. Not a criticism everyone's personal situation or even geography, are different, but some think they have a right to pick and choose at the expense of others and is my main objection to not wanting a ballot for a % that's often suggested. It's far from a closed shop, my only caveat is that kids can't collect points and ghat somehow needs looking at as they've not had the opportunity.
If there was a ballot (which I think is fair) for say 25% of away tickets, the people who do the hard yards and are going to Portsmouth and Middlesbrough et al midweek will get a ticket anyway as they will have the points?

I'm not sure. We do around 20 away each season, never all of them, with cup games incl probably miss about 5 aways. Often midweek with work commitments, so somewhere between 50-100 points a season short. Over the rolling 4 year period that's approx 300 points average below the top tier but I'd argue that with a decent job, I couldn't be much more committed. It means for Wrexham we got in with our 1850 & 1880 point accounts. If 25% had gone to a ballot, I think we could've easily missed out and of course on a personal level I'd deem that unfair.

There's no perfect situation of course that suits everyone but, with the exception of the issue on kids and some buying tickets with no intention of attending, then I think ours are pretty fair.

Due to an unplanned shoulder dislocation, I now have an adult and a child ticket going spare for Pompey on Tuesday evening. I'm Hampshire based so would probably need collecting on the way down.

252 for me.
I’ve been doing this with the boy for every home game for the last couple of years.
It’s given me a new sense of awe for those that can travel away regularly…especially midweek.
How do you all do it?! I’m bloody knackered afterwards.

This week I’ve got two home games and Pompey to get to. I’ll be completely done in…and skint!

360 for me! Although I am only able to get to a few per season.

170 to and from Pompey which will fee like a home game. Buzzing for it.

Big milage willy pissing contest; 230 round trip. So I've let myself down there. Plus due to life being life, I've only made it up twice so far this season... DOH.

We’ll make our annual pilgrimage to Preston, midweek game in December. Quite happy to come back at a silly time if we finally end that hoodoo!

We're similar to you. Around 20 away games a season, we're mid 1900s. Until Millwall in the league we'd not missed any games since end Jan. I'd love to go to every away game, but it's impossible.

Not going tomorrow due to lad being in college, so will make do with the tele.

We are tomorrow but it's my annual leave that's the issue so I've got the afternoon off unpaid, same with Wrexham.

I have limited time and after a family holiday in the summer, wife's birthday, daughter's birthday and Christmas booked, it doesnt leave a lot for anything else that we need.

Same here, knackered & skint. I wish my son could drive so I can have a sleep in the car or if he could contribute to the travelling costs that would be a help but despite the fact I've retired & my son is in full time employment my wife thinks I should pay for everything Good luck getting any money out of your son when he is older & earning money

Sounds like they're working you like a dog, mate. Time to join a union, surely.

Joking aside, I feel your pain. Fair play to anyone who takes time off to support the team, especially out of their own pocket. I doubt you'll be on your own in that. There's no way I could justify that at the moment, there's always way too much month left at the end of the money as it is!

The cost of a typical away day is pretty steep now tbf. That said, there isn’t much better than a midweek away win

Credit to you for taking yourself and the ‘wee man’ to Coventry for the football than going around the corner anyway.

Cheers. Yeah, Saturday will be an early start but not taking him tomorrow night. Too young for an away match.

That said, he asked for both a cov kit and a pompey kit for his birthday last week. Got him both but I think he just wanted to fit in with his mates with the Pompey kit. I said I'd take him to FP as well this season to see Pompey (again, he asked) but I'm pretty confident he'll stay Sky Blue.

I'm giving him the option. But will kick him out of the house if he starts singing 'Play up Pompey'!

You do see very young kids at away games now but I generally agree, I think your lad is 6 and that’s too little.

It’s a tough one on the split support. Get him some sky blue chinos at Christmas, it’ll be in the bag!

I remember that fateful cold night at Wycombe in L2, when my daughter was around 10 and the amount of high fives she got from blokes walking past us sat on the front row, saying 'fair play for sticking this out on a cold school night'. She wears it as a badge of honour, I wear it as I must be the worst parent in the world for making her endure that!

My wife is the same about the freezing cold afternoon at Crewe also in L2. Neither of us could feel our feet by full time!

I took my wife to two games - Luton at home, midweek, must have been sometime between 2012-2016 and it was dreadful. Then to the FA Cup game vs MK Dons when we had 9k there. There was actually 9,001 technically as she was with child at that point!

Both were freezing.

Coldest I've ever been at a game. Also hit a pot hole on the way out of Wycombe which ripped a hole in the tyre wall. AA took 2 hours to turn up then said he couldn't tow me so then had to wait another 90 min for a bigger truck to turn up.
