In the unseen videos he looks a big part of the squad and a real character, it's good we can give new signings time to integrate and bed in before rushing them into the team

I know we won the game and I'm thrilled but I don't think we played that well. Grimes was all over the place positionally, the defence looked really shaky to me. What was Kitching doing for their goal? Stay on your feet and they wouldn't have even had a shot.

Thought we were overrun in the midfield. A two man midfield of Grimes and Torp didn't work.

We won so its job done but I just think we could easily have let that slip with how we defended.

The defence for almost the entire game was pretty solid and organised .. about as shaky as a 0.1 magnitude earthquake

Just got back. What a performance..should have been out of sight.

Hats off to Lampard. Got it spot on with changes/team formation.

Resting Wright for Simms. Simms did everything you expect running the channels, held it up and was a nightmare for their defence.

Asante seems to play well with Simms when they both play up front. Another great problem to have.

Asante 9.0
Simms 8.5
Milan 8
Saka 7.5
Rest all 7s.

I'm of the opinion that with Wright needing rested we changed formation to facilitate Simms.
And it worked a treat. He was fantastic, as were the whole team.

Looked good against a tired defence who were pushing forward looking for an equaliser.

Lampard got it spot on, as bringing Sakamoto on stretched the game and gave us an outlet.

rushworth 7 so confident with him in goal
mve 6 thought it was one of his weaker hames
thomas 7 couple of dodgy touches and passes but a brick wall
woolf 7 slotted in seamlessley
kitching 6 -1 for the mistake
JDS 7 Solid again
Grimes 8 Was everywhere
torp 6.5 not at his best
BTA 8.5 Wonderful
EMC 6.5 Flattered to deceive
Simms 7.5 Should have scored though

Allen 7 slotted in nicely
saka 7 really nice cameo

Surprised to see you give Saka and Allen the same mark. Allen was tidy but Saka was electric when he came on. Spoke to a group of Pompey fans after and they thought Sakamoto was sensational.

I love Sakamoto. He can have quiet games but when he's on it he does everything so well. He can beat a man and cross but he works so hard to win the ball. 9/10 last night

I’m amazed Saka goes under the radar so much. He’s effective whenever he gets on the ball. Just ran through Portsmouth last night.

Away from home he's better as a sub than starting games generally

I think expectations for him coming in were way too high from the start, probably because it’d been a while since we signed a new LB.

As a cheap signing from a lower tier foreign club, I don’t think we can be too upset with the return we’ve had so far.
