Worked hard, didn't think it would come. Lots of 6s and 7s, 8 for MVE and Rudi (motm)

MVE and Rudoni the pick of the bunch for me, obviously Patterson won the game but overall i thought the other two were very good throughout the match. The opposition made it difficult for us and pressed well so im just glad we got the win. So glad the crowd backed Collins tonight, i'd feared people would be on him if he made an error and ive been proved wrong, hope it helps him for these crucial games now, need him to see us through!

Collins good distribution
Kitch started by losing the ball a few times in out half but was pinging some great forward passes in the 2nd half.
Bobby Thomas solid.
MVE excellent game.
EMC superb game
Rudoni great game Portsmouth were struggling when he was on the ball.
So Paterson calm to deliver at the end, then a minute of batshit mental celebrations.
Sheaf, beginning to look a lot more like the player we had last season
DaSilva great link up play.
Saka some good stuff.
Hope Torp's injury isn't season ending
Wright he can do better.
Grimes likewise not his best game but nothing terrible.

Wright had one significant moment in the 1st half, running from the left flank.

It's almost like it's his best position.

Didn't seem too bothered tonight.
Disappointed with his run on the left side in their box when he appeared to just jump over the ball. No idea what he was trying to do.

I think EMC should play centre forward? He is so good at winning and holding the ball.

He has the best first touch in the squad. Very rarely gives the ball away. Helps us progress the ball forward.
Not sure what Frank’’s done but he’s not getting targeted as much by opponents. Improved defensively, and whipping in some sublime crosses.

Most the Portsmouth out balls were to Murphy who was up against MVE, so maybe we were a bit fortunate there. Thought JDS had a great game but he didn’t generally have to do the things he struggles with.

MVE superb, some fucking engine on the lad
Dasilva played well again, miles better than Bidwell at the moment
EMC and Wright frustrating

MVE has looked absolutely brilliant going forward the last couple of games. If we do make the playoffs it will be in large part because he’s miraculously stayed fit all season.

Agree with those saying Dasilva played well. Some great balls down the line for EMC, and just very reliable on the ball.

Simms had a great cameo. Properly got amongst their CBs. I’d start him and move Wright to the left.

Reckon we need to start Simms, need that aggression. Lampard seems reluctant to play Wright wide left but he does have a lot of faith in EMC who seems to be struggling a bit of late. Thought both full backs did really well. Thought mve defensively was really strong. Disappointing for Tats but he seemed to be targeted.
Anyone know extent of Torp injury. Looked nasty.

Da silva looks like a different player all of a sudden. Seems much sharper and hungrier - fair play to the lad

I think it depends which team we are playing against and who is up against him from the opposing team.

He did have a very good game last night, but there was practically no threat from the right and it was all going down the left hand side to Murphy.

Not knocking him though. He barely put a foot wrong.

Now I'm just waiting for Grendel to say he had a good game.

Probably very hard to do when you have declared a player to be absolutely shite.

There's definitely a player in there, but he obviously has weaknesses.

Last night he had a very good game.

I remember him over hitting one.

Can't remember anything else. He did put a ball in for that great Rudoni chance.

Thomas was all over the place first half. Got caught on a few occasions but was bailed out by players around him. Settled more in the second half though.

Solid 6’s and 7’s. Rudoni is our creativity. Dasilva allowed to have a good game as they wanted to use Murphy. I wasn’t sure Sheaf and Grimes worked but it was somewhat forced. I’d be going with a from three of Wright Simms Saka from here on in

Tbf, that was because EMCs weight of pass was poor, a good pass doesn't give the defender a chance of getting it.

Dasilva is the first choice LB by a clear margin and it's not even controversial at this point.

Dasilva has been decent recently, long may it continue. Coupled with Bidwell looking woeful every time he gets on the pitch atm, Dasilva is quite clearly first choice.

Simms had a chance to challenge the keeper right at the end and pulled out. EMC had a very similar chance recently and scored
(V Sunderland?)

The only time the Pompey centre back pairing looked unsettled was when Simms came on . Wright is to passive and doesn't bully defenders

Collins 7 - apart from being in no mans land for one that hit bar did nothing wrong
MVE 8 - solid and is finding some form just when we need it, maybe could of hit shot first time
Dasilva 7 - been alright last few games
Thomas 6
kitching 7
Grimes 4 - we signed him as a CM not a CB, plays deep as its easier to be on ball unchallenged but then we a player light in middle of park, so have one less link to play through to play it out, so after 25 passes to gain 5 yards up pitch we send it long and are then a CM light to win second ball if opposition CB heads clear.
Sheaf 7 - rusty but did look to take ball on half turn and think about going forward instead of backwards everytime like others.
Rudoni 7 - did ok but started dropping a little to deep due to lack of service at times and apart from goal didnt give us good delivery in final third which is unlike him
EMC 5 - need to see him get on front foot more and trouble his full back, feels like if hes stood up he cant beat his man
Sakamoto 5
Wright 5 - would like to see him back on LW and Simms through middle, we are struggling to get him in game as a ST

Watch the replay. There was no commitment to a header. It was basically a jump in the general direction.

Would just like to see him play more (simms). I do rate emc but he’s not looked ‘on it’ the last few games. To be fair probably to do with the recent opposition.

Probably his best defensive performance for us and still got forward as well.
