Thought we were pretty boring.

Emc tried to do way too much every single time.

Paterson motm followed by Rudoni for the assist.

Special mention for wright for doing the worst bottle of the season for no reason.

MvE very good again.

Thomas in the first half when they were attacking. Kitching had a good game and sometimes looked our most creative passer.

Collins did everything asked of him well.

What. A. Goal.

only one team showed up to win today and its hard to play against a team that doesnt want to play. Paterson gets a 10 purely for the goal, Collins 8, rest around 6 or 7

We were poor, though, but it doesn't matter at this stage. It just matters if you win or not.

Milan motm for me closely followed by Paterson the rest were quite poor

Collins - 7 maybe could've done better when they hit the bar but otherwise steady and distributes well
DaSilva - 7 surely our number one left back now , looks more confident
Thomas - 6 very erratic tonight but still a threat from set pieces
Kitching - 8 love his aggression but also some of his passing was sublime
MvE - 7 so frustrating at times but another solid game against a tricky opponent
Grimes - 6 slowed it down too much tonight
Torp - 6 looked a nasty injury
Rudoni - 9 our best player and biggest threat
EMC - 7 hot and cold performance
Sakamoto - 7 see above
Wright - 6 he isnt a centre forward

Subs
Sheaf - 6 just doesn't look interested or not match sharp
Simms - 7 showed well and challenged for everything
Norm - 5 just headless
Pato - 9 boooooooom

MVE has looked absolutely brilliant going forward the last couple of games. If we do make the playoffs it will be in large part because he’s miraculously stayed fit all season.

Agreed Grimes was too slow against an opponent who wasn't pressing and Sheaf was way off it

That's a bit harsh on Portsmouth, they showed a lot more attacking intent than us in the first half, and still had a few moments in the second.

My criticism of him tonight was he needs to hit crosses and shots first time . He's a super confident individual so it baffles me why he takes a touch when it's not needed in certain situations.
And that's nit picking because he has been superb this season

Yeah when he ran onto that ball it bounced perfectly but he took a touch rather than putting his foot through it.

I thought Dasilva had a very good game. Fair play to him.

MVE had an excellent game against a very tricky winger in Murphy.

Grimes didn't have the impact you would have expected and he failed to stamp his authority on the game

I thought Mason-Clark did so some good stuff at times, but then he would make the wrong decisions in and around the 6 yard box.

Wright was very quiet.

Does Collins get an assist for his majestic long upfield ball that Rudoni latched on to?

I don't think we were that poor, but we didn't move the ball quick enough and lacked a bit of zip and energy about us.

To be fair, Portsmouth played very, very well, especially in that first half.

He was pretty pedestrian for the first few games I thought, but the levels of energy and pace he has at this stage of the season are just incredible.

Like I said it's nit picking as he's a superb player but if he is to play higher then they are the things he needs to sharpen up on

Got to be honest while other players have been inconsistent, MVE and Dasilva have kept their performances up. MVE especially, that baffling decision not to shoot first time aside

Simms needs to play CF, with Haji playing off him. Neither are suited to the lone CF role.

MVE and Dasilva were excellent.
Collins solid. Nothing to do, but some good distribution.
Sheaf was rusty, but was starting to get his rhythm in the last 15.
Kitching was a little reckless, but he was trying some adventurous forward passes, not all of them worked, but the majority did.
Patterson…What a goal. Hope he starts at Hull.

Frank needs to change a few things for Hull.
We’ve been at best average in the last 3 games.

I get that it's a school night but the amount of people that left at the 80th minute was pretty mad

Let's book him in for limb lengthening surgery in the off season.
Its normally a mm at a time, so we'll only have to break the bones 200+ times.

He has the best first touch in the squad. Very rarely gives the ball away. Helps us progress the ball forward.
Not sure what Frank’’s done but he’s not getting targeted as much by opponents. Improved defensively, and whipping in some sublime crosses.

Thought apart from Wright no-one played badly, was just a very beige performance.
Though at this stage of the season, all that really counts is results, and points on the board, no matter how you come by them.
