Not voted as feel he deserves time. But I’m concerned at the moment. Like Gary Mcsheffery said at the start of the year, Robins has struggled without a good number 2.

Is this a Nigel Clough situation, where robins needs Adi to be successful. Only time will tell but to be honest signs not looking good at the moment.

Majority of posters need to listen to the few who said it would turn out alright in September/October 2022/23, and 23/24. I thought you'd all have learnt your lesson by now, that you don't know what you're talking about. Unfortunately many display the memory of a goldfish.

Just because it’s happened before doesn’t mean it’s going to happen again.

When you’ve got the manager questioning the players on the ability to run and fight, pretty naive to think it’s all going to click, combined with an inexperienced coaching team who have a lot to prove put it that way

45 million over 2 seasons in the Championship isn't the fortune some people are making it out to be.
Especially when we've lost Fadz, Gus, Vik and O'Hare.

It’s a lot more than most teams in the championship, yet we’re struggling against the likes of Stoke, Swansea and Bristol City, who with all due respect haven’t got the talent we have in the squad. Thats the worrying thing for me, bar Norwich these are teams that won’t finish top ten…?

Yet it could, and poster like yourself have a track record of getting it wrong over the past 2 seasons.

Not really, in the 10 league games prior to the Man U game we took 15 points. That includes the 3-0 loss to our other bogey team Preston, but includes 3 away wins, a home win against Leeds, and also cup a win against Wolves.
If you start counting from the Preston game, that's still 12 points from 9 games with 2 cup victories as well.

As well as Leeds that run included away defeats to West Brom and Southampton. Not a great run but not that bad either.

I think it is, the level of performance from the games at Blues, WBA and Preston, weren't far off yesterday. Miles of the pace, no cohesion. The strange thing again, we picked up against Leeds and we were excellent iirc. Rotherham and Huddersfield we were pritty good, but those 2 sides were also exceptionally bad. These bad performances have been a running theme for a long time.

Don't get me wrong, with the money we've spent we should be doing a lot better. But I think people are overestimating the impact that amount of money should have in the Championship.

I also think people are thinking we did well on a shoestring we should piss it now we've spent some money.

Footballs not as black and white as that.

I agree with what you’re saying, I think a large proportion of this dissatisfaction comes from the performances, they just aren’t good enough for what we’ve spent. A good 45 mins here and there isn’t cutting it nowadays, I’m watching the games and wondering where the moneys gone?

There’s got to be a gear shift with the money spent

How many players have we brought in that we’ve paid money for vs players out we sold for a fee?

You can’t just compare previous seasons because this time Robins hasn’t got his favoured back up crew and he himself looks very dejected right now. The
Spurs game showed us things are not all bad…..what I want to know is why can’t these same players get motivated to play the ordinary league matches.

I guess people saw what MR did with a very limited budget and off field shenanigans and assumed with more to spend and the off field stuff addressed that we would keep progressing. Include myself in that category

It’s not difficult. We’ve sold £40m of talent. Primarily Yok and Hamer. So the £45m we paid out is not just money to improve it’s also money to replace.

no it’s a totally dumb argument - if a manager came in after they were sold and he’d got £45 million to spend on a new squad that’s the spend

You are also looking at value on purchase of new and sale of old and not their value now

Or their value when they left our squad? I’m afraid you can’t just keep quoting “we’ve spent £45m” as if it’s purely squad enhancing cash. It’s pure common sense that some has been spent to plug gaps.

It’s not so much that £45m has been spent but that man for man we’ve got a much better squad. Fewer PL class players but many more top championship players and we are less than the sum of our parts.

Yes I'd look at dougs staff recruitment so far , we'd end up with george boeteng as a cheap option for the rest of the season

Think there's an awful lot of idealism going on

There’s also a lot of assumption that it’s the coaching staff has gone wrong.

I think tactically Robins has been off all season. The tactics and team selection is predominantly on Robins.

the structure in place is for the long term culture of the club. Robins will have been involved with all these appointments. Robins was the one who’d been after Kitching for a while, by all accounts we were after BTA in 2017.

Robins has done a lot right, he rightly gets praised for the rise we’ve had, but how come it’s someone else’s fault when it’s wrong?

As we often only play well for one 45 min period, we could do with an half-asleep coach.

Alternatively we’ve been shit after losing Vivaesh…. Does that mean he’s the real brains of the last 7 years? Not Robins?

it was Robins who picked the team yesterday…. Dropping Simms after he’d scored last Saturday? Defence looked more assured with Kitching and Thomas

Well that's all nonsense isn't it , adi had a different role to mark at the club , Mark is the manager that's been putting the team out for years .
We are missing adi for various reasons sure , like player discipline and probably different training regimes

If the manager can’t man-manage and control discipline, then he’s a poor manager.

If Adi Vivaesh controlled man-management and the training, what did Robins bring?

We must be the only club ever that puts their assistant and defensive coach on a pedestal that's higher than the actual manager
