I saw on Twatter someone jokingly refer to our Luton game on 26th Oct as 'El Sackico'.

Set me thinking, two good managers having a rough time of things, possibly could do with a fresh challenge. If Doug did decide to wield the axe, someone like Rob Edwards I think could be the perfect fit. I think with our similar trajectory over the past few years, Luton must have some respect for the job Robins has done.

So the question I guess (yes I know it won't happen, but hypothetically ... ), if you had the choice, would you swap?

it isn’t relevant in terms of whether he should keep his job or not, but I guess it is if people chant stuff

Nah not for me. My mate said David Moyes with a decent back room staff but I'm not sure on that either, would rather see Robins turn it around and maybe have a reshuffle on the coaching department.

As I said on the other thread, it's out for me now.

Results have not been good enough at the end of last and start of this season. It's with a heavy heart because Robins has been brilliant, but he'll look at results himself and say they're not good enough.

Would take David Moyes in a heartbeat, but not a chance we'd be able to afford him.

Personally while I’ve been negative. I would look after Sunderland. Think Mark deserves the time to try and ready the ship and feel an international break here could be good.

However the big caveat I have is that if he doesn’t we are in a worse position for a new manager which reduces our options. Issue is while the issue could be the coaches, while we have Robins in this predicament I can’t see Doug getting rid or hiring as he may be doubling his costs if the new manager wants him own people in.

Ultimately it’s probably now or never for Robins to turn the ship. Happy if that is better performances and tactics clicking over results but at the moment can’t see any signs of life.

Off the pitch it sounds like things are being run pretty well (as far as we're lead to believe), as maybe that's what Doug King knows, but he has already admitted he's not a football fan and so I'd prefer he wasn't anywhere near the team or making decisions on the coaching/backroom staff.
That includes team photos and the end of year lap of honour

Nope. Not for me. If Robins goes for any reason and Edwards comes in, I'll get behind him and it might all work out for the best but would I swap them? No.

Robins has a heck of a lot of get out clauses among the fan base that other managers certainly don't get. I've got no problem saying I think the poor start is largely down to him.
He deserves respect sure, but if we can't discuss that on this forum, I don't see the point in having a forum.

Whilst we may disagree on 'in/out' I find it really hard to argue with this. The finger pointing here - the players aren't good enough, Doug's mantra, coaching changes, the performance director... for me a lot of this is irrelevant and some of it borderline silly.

The set up of the team, the constant chopping and changing, motivation, the lack of change in formation, like for like subs that have no impact etc etc - these are all things you look to your manager to fix and no one else. We should be doing better.

Looking at the cold hard fact's the owners responsibility with alas Mark's compliance has done for him currently, whether it's resolved in January remains to be seen,,in the interim give him the fucking midfielder he needs whoever's available would be my summation if not why is he here?

In his defence, the spreadsheet thing isn't real (I don't think). I started that a couple of years ago as he had an uncanny knack of recalling specific posts/thoughts from a number of posters, over the years.

I just said that I was sure he must have some sort of spreadsheet that he uses when he needs to filter by poster and what he's recorded about them.

I don't think he actually has on

Hahah on many levels.

I actually thought I proposed the spreadsheet theory years ago. Perhaps we both did.

So either he definitely does and it’s obvious to many or it’s just folklore that’s taken hold. I strongly vote the former.

Either way, he’ll be getting off on the fact this is even a discussion point. So at least we’ve bought some joy to an old man on a Monday night.

Unless we end up in a relegation scrap, and are in the bottom 6 or so come February, Robins should see out the season and go again next year. There's probably some lessons to be learnt in terms of summer recruitment, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. This season isn't the be all and end all, and anyone who can't handle it should just not renew their ST next year.

What does that even mean. I’m pretty sure you are an alt account of another certain poster on here. The nonsense of suggesting if revenue generators should just leave supporting the club as you are happy with mediocrity is very inspirational thinking.

So let’s assume we are in the bottom six in feb, who in their right mind will come in at that point of the season.

Agree there are lessons to be learnt from recruitment since next year will be a rebuild I imagine.

Happy to wait but think we need to judge at latest January so we can allow a new coach to get tools he would need for the job especially if we are in the bottom six. Personally think it’s this international break to the next one to get going.

On that last note though, think the fans are not at fault for feeling disappointed right now and seeking a change after all it was the club that keeps going on about the premiership dream and even Robins at the start going on about how we can’t hide away from the expectations.

Well Jan/Feb anyway, I think at that point it would need a serious assessment of where we're heading, if we're down there in a scrap.

If we’re down there in a relegation battle he’s got to go im sorry.

We’re only 4 points off 10th, but have this team got it in them to go on a half decent run of results, time will tell.

I think the November break would be the time to make the call, fairly decent period of time into the season (a third)

Most influential signing

In Robins second stint Liam Kelly for me but there are at least a few more who’ve played from league 2 and don’t look out of plane in the championship

No of course and that’s a fair point. No matter if it’s robins or not, managers will if given time have both good and bad moments. Always a hard job to determine when it’s not getting better.

Supported Robins last year 100% even with the start as could see what the plan was and thought once it clicked it would get going. Struggling this year to see it.

A question we've not had to answer for a very long time in footballing terms is when do you know that it really is time for a manager to move on as opposed to it just being another bad spell?
