Just interested to see if feelings have changed or not? I’ve added a third option for those like myself that are now undecided.

Shouldn't the poll be "are you a city fan through thick and thin"?

Yes we've been shite now for around half a season, and we're all fucking sick of it, but we've had massive changes of staff, and a number of players in and out.

A win yesterday and things would be looking up going into the break. But we are Cov so it's never going to be that simple.

Imo (fwiw) I'm giving MR the whole season, I feel we owe him that for picking the club up out of the gutter and giving us something to be proud of. There were loads of times under SISU were he could of spat his dummy out and fucked off (again) but he stayed and turned it around.

In many respects he's become a victim of his own success, as expextation levels have now rocketed. And he's been badly let down by some players who cant/won't take responsibility when it matters.

I think he needs an experienced no2 ASAP
And we need a couple of experienced heads in in Jan.

Are we going to do this every week?

Personally I don't want him gone, and I want him to turn it around. At the moment it feels like we are going in circles though.

The players and their application is still the biggest problem for me, but Robins isn't helping himself either and therefore the players cannot get all the blame. Game management is a big issue and yesterday was another example of letting the opposition walk away with the points too softly.

In for me but I do think where we are after Sunderland is make or break.

The problem for me is that I don’t think any manager will do better with this group of players. Not sure we have much option for formation change either with the personnel we’ve got.

Said it on another thread but if King pulls the trigger then I can’t see him getting rid of the current coaching staff all in one go which makes me think he’ll promote within which could be a disaster.

One way or another King is going to have to spend some cash in January whether it’s for new players or a new Manager. Just not convinced he is willing to put his own money in. I accept money from Gus and Vik has been put back into the squad but is any left?

no because being a City fan through thick and thin is a given for most if not all regular posters I would imagine - supporting Robins is a completely different question, and actually the talk about Robins going is with the aim of improving the club, not because people have stopped supporting…

the issue with giving him the whole season is quite simply that if this form continues we will be relegated - and his ‘legacy’ becomes somewhat tarnished, plus we are then faced with having to recruit a replacement with a whole different set of circumstances and a completely different brief

I’m on the fence, but I think it’s more a question for me of is it better the devil you know…? if we do change, it needs to be quick though as any new manager will need time before the January window to understand the squad and what is needed

Plus most of the players will want to fuck off so it will be a total rebuild with little funds available. I suppose Thomas, Kitching and EMC would at least have found their level though.

Not the superfan stuff again.

We support the club, not the manager.

If the time is right for him to go (and I’m not saying that it is), then “supporting the club” means calling for a new manager

Not a superfan at all, not by any stretch.
Just a bang average fan that's learnt not to have a knee jerk reaction to yet another shit start. And a fan that thinks we owe MR the chance to turn it round.

This is the first season we've not seen signs of progress under MR. (Yet)

Are we really going to throw him under the bus after 9 matches?

I literally said “I’m on the fence and I’m interested to see what everyone else thinks”. If I wanted Robins out I’d just say I want Robins out, why would I be arsed what anyone thought about my opinion? I don’t want Robins out atm but if things carry on like this for a while then yeah I would be Robins out, I’ve not created a poll just to try and disguise my true opinion, I’m just interested in what everyone on here thinks

Tbh I'm not sure if these "polls" are helpful at the moment.

Especially the morning after a poor result when feelings are still bitter.

I want to see a new no2 to give MR help with tactics and the use of subs, which is something we have lacked for a while now.
Also a no2 who can get the players motivated more, as MR doesn't seem the type of manager to do it on his own.

I said he needed a win from the two home games, he got that and nothing more.

You look at our games coming up - Preston, QPR, Luton, Boro, Derby, Sunderland, Sheff U, Burnley.

QPR and Derby are now must wins. I’m really not sure where the points are coming from outside of that tbh. If he doesn’t get those wins it’s probably time to go.

isn’t all that the manager’s job though? so in essence can we get a number 2 in to do the job for Robins??

without saying it, you’ve pretty much just outlined the reasons for getting rid of him

Realistically, he is gone long before we get relegated but guys, seriously, what is with this mindless panic. It's unhelpful. If the fans stay with the team we will be well clear of the bottom 3 regardless of who the manager is.

Not at all.
Every manager needs an good assistant.
Brian Clough was heralded as one of the best managers of all time, but even he struggled after Peter Taylor left.

The great Liverpool teams had the knowledge of people within the "boot room"
To help the managers.

MR has not had the same results since Lawrence and Viveash left, so it's a team effort that's required, it can't all be put on the shoulders of the manager.

And I'm sorry, call me an old fart, but I don't buy into this modern day nonsense like having a "sleep coach" and a sports psychologist and all that soppy bollocks.
Get a proper no2 who knows the game inside out, not some wet fart with a sports science diploma.

Most managers have an assistant, even within a set up akin to the one that King has introduced at City.

Absolute bollocks to say they're doing the mangers job isn't it?

I think it should be the first step in trying to sort this mess out

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he wants Robins gone but also wants to wait until that is the majority opinion before saying it to avoid taking flak. Hence the polls.

I do agree with you about proper staff who know the game, you can’t buy that with a university degree or diploma or whatever

the thing is, if it isn’t Robins’ job to motivate players, and training, tactics and subs, then what exactly do you suggest IS his job?
