In light of the info, now received that the slap from Wrexham came after a rousing motivational speech by Tim Fisher. That it was this, that JC was alluding to on Twitter and not AT. Followed by 4 wins on the bounce.

Any chance of a New gage the mood poll regarding AT.
Like the one following the 4-1 defeat. Just to be fair to the fella.

I can't seem to find the set a poll option on my mobile.

Could somebody set one up please. Capture the mood after our first match that counts.

I am not bothered about the friendlies results. They were friendlies after all.

If he can keep the players together whilst all this sh!t is going on then he is the man for the job. We should have a stronger midfield against Yeovil. I am expecting us to play well. A lucky win and I will have my doubts. An unlucky draw or defeat and I will be happy with the performance. This is where the serious work starts.

It's a bit like saying is Steve Keane good enough for the job? Everyone in Blackburn thinks not but how would they know until he gets a chance to prove his ability now?
Same applies to Thorn. He has his new team and his coaching staff, a whole new season of expectation and he will shape it in his own image. Fail after a dozen games and the answer will be no. Look like he is producing the goods after 12 games and the answer may well be yes.

Agree with people moaning about threads that are about an entirely different subject descending into the AT debate.
However when a thread is entitled that it is about AT.
Have no sympathy about your moans that it is boring.
Really simple solution don't click on threads that are clearly about this subject as oppose to trying to tell people what subjects they can or cannot talk about.

Not that im out for AT's blood but lets say worst comes to worst....I think what Norwich did in league one is something that should be looked at. They went down with Gunn in charge. They were shite so sacked him and went for a smaller teams manager who was doing well. He got them in the Prem after all.

Difference is Norwich are a well run club, with a clear vision and a full stadium, they also had the funding to support their manager both in terms of wage structure and in transfers. They paid fees for 8 players including £500k for Holt as well as others brought in on frees, we've only paid a free for 1 player (Barton reportedly ~£150k?).

When Peterborough and Scunthorpe last got promoted how much did they spend versus outgoing fees? How many players in League 1 this season have been signed with a fee?

You don't have to pay money to get decent players, but it gives you more choice.

Look at some of the crap players we have paid for....Fatwood?.....look at some of the players we haven't got a fee for...Westwood.....Even Drogba went on a free this closed season. Be astute in the transfer market and you can do well. Or be CCFC in the past and pay for loads of shite.

But like you say Astute it gives you choice, I agree we wasted big money on the likes of feddy, Kyle and Mckenzie.

I would say that money at this level can be particularly influential, especially when bringing in forwards - Southampton spent £2.5m on Lambert and Barnard. Most teams in this league can't afford to spend £2-300k on a player. Most chamapionship teams can/do spend £1m for a player, so although a lot of money the fee for Eastwood, etc was on par for the championship.

And as I said in my original post, it's not just about fees but also wages. Drogba on a fee will still cost a hefty signing on fee a massive wages
