That shows to me a huge mental weakness
Better hope we don't concede first Monday.
Not great , needs sorting
And QPR and Norwich and Birmingham. It's tactical as well. Look at the goals conceded v Preston and Charlton.
Absolute stupidity to leave yourself that open when you're 1 up.
That would be losing from a drawing position.Better hope we don't concede first Monday.
Preston were down to 10 and Charlton are a pretty poor team and we had 25 minutes left theres no way we should have been sitting back and defending the lead in either of the situations. We should have put the game away 2 or 3 goals in both of these matches really either before or after conceding the equaliser. It's tactical as well. Look at the goals conceded v Preston and Charlton.

It's well-trodden ground, but this lays out the consequences of Lampard not having a plan to grind out results away from home.
Burnley last season were an extreme but relevant example: To sustain a promotion campaign in this notoriously difficult league, sometimes you just need to get goals wherever they'll come and shithouse your way over the line.
I think a lot about the match against Charlton. Brau dropped a proper clanger, but why exactly was he left to defend a potential counter-attack on his own when we were winning??
See, this is where I disagree. Every point is precious when we're going for promotion and in situations where we're in the lead and on top away from home we should be prioritising protecting the lead over making it bigger. It might have been embarrassing at the time to see us shithousing whilst 1-0 up against 10 men but it wouldn't have felt as bad as letting in the equaliser did.Preston were down to 10 and Charlton are a pretty poor team and we had 25 minutes left theres no way we should have been sitting back and defending the lead in either of the situations. So the opposite also applies when we win from losing positions?? Gotta be close to top of that chart. That shows to me a huge mental weakness

I assune we are close top of points won from losing positions.
What this shows we dont have much control in games.
They are end to end. We have nothing much in middle..its all attack or shit defence.
i mostly knew about us- although i didn't realise we were quite so bad, the revelation was seeing where Boro, Ipswich and Millwall were in comparisonI’m not sure this is a revelation to anyone?!
Still think when we’ve gone 1-0 up in away games we should have been shutting up shop. I know it doesn’t work but I think we’d be at least 6 points better off if we had of done that.
Everyone looks for the reasons for a decline in results or performance. The coaches will be doing the same, change of formation, systems, players, training methods, speeches, and instructions. But as Jimmy Greaves said ,"its a funny old game" and he is right.
Everything is meant to be and over any period of time sport levels out. Analyze as much as you want and try to find a reason, excuse or an opinion on a solution. At the end of the day, its a game and things happen we cant explain sometimes what you do if not enough or someone does it better.
If we finish top 2 great, if not that's life and we get on and deal with it. Its in the players hands now, they have to get us over the line, if we get help with a few decisions and lady luck we'll take it.

Yes, I would agree but I'm not sure playing 10 men Preston or against Charlton are good examples. I don't think we dropped points in those matches for being too attacking. It’s not about sitting back. It’s about not being totally gun-ho and stupidly cavalier. Good teams will score 2 or 3. But also if they only score 1 it shouldn’t matter.
