Heard Peter Reid on TalkSport earlier on with Keys &Gray. He said the Plymouth players still haven’t been paid since January. Theywere offered 15% of the salaries but they all said to divert that to the officeand admin staff at Plymouth. Footballers arn’t all arseholes after all. :claping hands:
Along similar lines, Niall Quinn had an interview where he said that Bolo Zenden and another Sunderland player I can't remember came up to him out of the blue and offered to pay for a big day/night out for all the support staff at the club as a thankyou for their work.
Didn't Reid pay a leccy/gas bill at the ground or sumat not long after he got there? Seem to remember hearing that he went into the offices and they staff were all there sat in their coats on as the club couldn't pay the bill.
Makes it even more obscene that Man City and the like can shell out 200k a week wages dont it
A lot of Plymouth season ticket holders have also been paying an optional extra £10 per game they watch aswell. Sad times for football when it comes down to this.
Yet again the 'haves' and the 'have nots'. Give it a few years and the crisis will be well and truly visible, even to the blind men at the FA. Level playing fields (and I don't mean the ones they are playing on) will make the game more evenly matched in terms of quality and finances and also will be sustainable.
