We booked into hospitality at Plymouth. Did anyone else get this?

We are writing to inform you that your recent ticket booking for the upcoming fixture between Plymouth Argyle and Coventry City at Home Park has been cancelled.

In line with our Match Day Ticket Terms & Conditions, Home Park's hospitality and home areas are strictly reserved for Plymouth Argyle supporters. This is particularly important for high-profile fixtures such as this one, where an embargo is in place on away supporter bookings within hospitality and other non-away designated areas.

Following a routine review in coordination with Coventry City Football Club, your booking has been identified as having been made by an away supporter attempting to purchase in a restricted area. As such, and to uphold the safety, security and matchday experience for all supporters, your ticket(s) have been cancelled with immediate effect.

Strange as our hospitality and other clubs I have seen are mixed?

I emailed them back and asked them nicely and they reversed the decision and let us in on the condition of no club colours, chanting singing etc. This is normal anyway for visiting hospitality.
We were given seats in the normal stand area with normal fans ( except ours were padded, but with no barriers.), a bit like you get at Villa.
The hospitality food was brilliant, probably the best we have had.
I was just wondering whether they generally check with the opposing club or whether it was someone researching my name.
we were sitting next to other Coventry fans but they lived in Truro and had been to Plymouth a few times.

Ah, for games where clubs think there will be a chance of away fans in home areas clubs do things like ask the other team to run a list of say first time purchasers through their own database to see if there is a match. Think we have done the same for games like Leicester in the past.

I remember the rigorous test for sitting in the home end at Forest Green Rovers…

Ticket office: “You’re not a Coventry fan are you”?
Me: …erm…no?

I thought CCFC's 'hospitality' towards PAFC yesterday was 5*.

Plymouth started banning away fans last season, in hospitality after Leeds fans caused trouble in there.

Rather poor showing.

It’s standard practice that facilities offered to away fans should to be comparable to that offered to home fans.

Hospitality is part of that.
