Surprised it's a low as 1700 for a starting point.

Oxford gave us fewer tickets and that started at 1700 and sold out at 1600 less than an hour down the road. Think this may just get to the 1500 mark

Isn't 1700 the highest starting point there has been lol?

Oxford was 1700 with a few hundred less tickets and much easier to get to.

Starting that high does sort of give off that ‘closed shop’ vibe, and I’m all for the points system FWIW.

Just seems very high. At some point they’re gonna have to start opening it up somehow.

I don't agree.....those fans who have a ticket deserve one for the support they've given over the last 4 seasons (I won't get a ticket)
Only needs to be looked at when every away game is sold out at high points numbers.....which would probably be if/when get promoted

Difficult one because so many games have gone to general sale this season.

If we get promoted, then it really would become a closed door because all 3000 tickets to every away game would sell out. That's before you factor in Bournemouth and Brentford who only allocate about 1400.

If people want a theory how it could be a bit more open, I can’t give one.

I’m fine for points on 1510, I know it won’t get me to the smaller allocations, but I know I’ll slowly catch up. I’m not one to piss away two days annual leave on a game like Hull or whatever - I only get 23! Derby was my first midweek for a few years and even that was a push without having to take days off.

I think sometimes people don’t take that latter point into account. ‘Here’s you chance to build points’, it really isn’t that black and white for many people.

How do you think those with 1700+ points got them? They didn't just appear on their account.

Literally all they would’ve had to do is have a ST for the Birmingham days. Which is basically why I’m 200 odd behind.

I don’t even have a problem, all I’ve said is it’ll be revised in the next few years, chill. Couldn’t give a shite about Plymouth.

I had ST at Birmingham and I’m at 1100 points. Don’t go away games as often as I’d like with 3 young children.

Yeah, you need to do a lot more than just have had STs from brum onwards to be on 1700 plus

Yes but if you renewed straight after then there’s another 230 to quickly return closer to the original figure

If you had a ST then and renewed every time since, and did maybe 10 or 11 away games per season. That’s putting you in a pretty healthy place point wise.

You get 230 points for a season ticket so the most points anyone can get from having a season ticket is 920. The rest needs to be made up in away and cup games.

I think the argument is that it may reach a point where if you're above a certain threshold it's easy for you to maintain, because you have access to all/almost all tickets, but if you're lower down it's actually harder to build up when you can't access certain games (typically the easiest to get to as well) and almost HAVE to be making trips like Hull on a Monday night to stand a chance of getting up there.

There WILL be people with very high points who occasionally come across a game they physically cannot get to. They will still buy for the points, to keep growing (unfairly and unethically in this case) their advantage.

I’ve missed one game this season and didn’t buy a ticket for the points. I have 2210 points and there will be several on more than me. If people want to get to that amount of points, heading to hull would be a great place to start. If they don’t fancy that then they probably shouldn’t moan when they can’t get Oxford or Luton tickets.

It's no argument. It was just the same for those on 1700+ at some point. They ''HAD to be making trips like Hull on a Monday night'' to get those points. They didn't just get 1700+ by buying 4 season tickets, they got them by attending plenty of games over a sustained period. Someone on 1200 points now has got to put in the graft to pick up more points, and it's quite frankly tough if it doesn't fit in around their life.

Using your 'it's not black and white' scenario. Those that have high points often/always get asked if they are using their points for games with a small capacity. How do you think these people should answer this to friends and family? There's only one answer.

That’s not the scenario at all though is it…
