Of course he is going to say that. He can't say much else really can he.

Bet he's gone in Jan.

From what I heard Saturday craine looks certain to sign on the dotted line. Clingan I doubt very much, looks at his previous. Forest & Norwich.

Don't get me wrong, love him to sign but if he don't by jan, then get rid. Can't allow the same as what happened to westwood.

The interview was on cwr after saturday's match . If you listened to it, the player couldnt say anything else . It confirmed absolutely nothing.

Basically live on air - "Assuming everything goes ok with contract discussions, do you want to remain a coventry city player"

Clingan " er - oh yes of course"

He sounded pretty sure about how much he wanted to stay. Loves leamington, his girlfriend is happy, happy at the club.

Sound just like Marlon, I want to sign love the club... but who else want me. He has put up 'For Sale' sign. It's down the Orange Ken and the other numpties to sort out, there record is piss poor with our best players. We end up giving long term deals to the likes of Bell and Baker

I'll believe it when he trots out in a City shirt next August

Don't like to be a sceptic but our past record speaks volumes

Quite sure he will be courted by other clubs and can anyone give any good reasons why a decent professional like Clingan would stay here?

All that interview said to me was if Coventry offer me enough money I will stay. If he gets better offers from other clubs he will be going.

Dont think it is just about the money. I know NI do not have a vast player pool to choose from but I think for his international and professional aspirations Clingan wouldnt want to be playing in Div 1. I cant blame him for taking his time or even letting the contract run down. He has to do what is best for him. None of us would do differently

I understand what you are saying but even if we stayed in the division he will still probably be off.

The bit I like is "the chairman flew in to talk to us" , bet he did'nt fly in useing Ryanair, why is'nt our Chairman here all the time. Its a 24/7 job ,so he needs to be here all the time, certainly at the moment anyway.

What I'm more concerned about is why did he talk to all of them. Was he telling them that if any offers come in then CCFC will rip up their contracts so they can go and save money

If another local team can offer him more wages, so he doesn't have to move - He'll be gone.

What he says is usual cliches like I would like to stay if things are right. He is a player who likes to run his contract down and then leave. I will be amazed if he is playing next season at this club whoever the owners are.

Yea he is certainly right to be weighing up his options now though, it would be daft to sign a new contract with a team currently in the relegation zone maybe if we get out of trouble it could change his mind.

Nope but my contact runs out tomorro, so there's no sick pay for me, and the injury will cancel the contract I had coming up... Christmas from poundland it is!

Clingan will be gone, he would only have signed a new contract if we're at the right end of the league. Why on earth would he stay here? Must have killed him to see Norwich get into the Prem last season while we struggled AGAIN.

Unfortunately the only players who will stay here are those not good enough to go to a better club. Even "Sky Blue through and through" McSheffrey has been stalling on a new contract!
