We are capable of winning every game and there’s one thing for certain none will relish playing us over two legs.

It's still up for grabs imo, every chance Blackburn and Millwall will both drop out, Blackburn have a difficult run in. It's not like everyone has a run against the relegation fodder either, everyone is playing each other, plenty of points will be dropped between now and the end of the season.

Yes, it's strange. West Brom and Watford are 5 points off 6th, both with a worse goal difference than us, but somehow they both have a better chance than us, according to some. West Brom do have a game in hand but they play 8 times in 29 days in April

West Brom also carry a weight around their neck of knowing they are fucked if they don't go back up this season.

Yeah. I just think they have better squads and better players overall. That doesn't mean we don't have any better players than them, we almost certainly do. I mean across the first team 11's and squads.

Still on the same subject and same points being made although we're on a good run and teams around us are not.

I'm still confident that we will make the playoffs. The top teams have to play other top teams more than we do. All them games are points dropped for at least one team that plays. The only game that I'm not confident of getting some kind of result is the last game of the season against Middlesbrough. But they could also have secured promotion by then. And we might have secured a playoff place by then.

We have a solid defence, strong midfield and our best striker for many years. Just 1/5th of the season left to not get any more injuries to our main players. Plus maybe a couple of players to come back from injury. This 2 week break has come at a good time for us.

Secured promotion it'll be a party atmosphere and players playing with freedom, I think we lose. Secured 3rd and they won't risk injury or suspension ahead of the play offs and likely rest their key performers, so this is best chance for us imo.

At this point I've no idea what's going to happen but what a season it's been. Its had everything.

Though I am revising my 12th to 16th prediction, got to be top 10 minimum now.

Really looking forward to QPR away, if we go there still in with a serious shout think the atmosphere will be incredible.

I think they will fail to reach the playoffs. Recently they have lost games they would have been expected to win. WBA v Watford on Saturday. Loser will be out of contention. A draw will be bad for both.

And their last 3 games are away to Sheffield United, home to Norwich and away to Swansea. They also have 5 games to play from the 15th to 29th of April. A game every 3 days at the end of a long, hard season with their hardest games at the end of it.

While I think we certainly could creep into the play-offs I wouldn't fancy our chances over two legs against Norwich, Sheff Utd, Middlesborough or even Luton.

Or job done and already looking forward to playing in the Prem. Would they put as much effort in as a club that needs a result?

And as I said we could have our place in the playoffs secured by then. Lots of games where the teams above us are playing against each other.

There's 6 teams between us and Burnley. Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Blackburn still have to play them. We don't

We're on a 9 game unbeaten run. Only 8 games to go. How many would fancy their chances against us?

They are one off games. Anyone’s guess what the outcome would be.

I still can’t believe with 8 games to go we have a 7% of chance of promotion on that statistics based 538 site

My opinion as a realist is we won’t be close to the playoffs really. We are 9 unbeaten and still 3 points away. We won’t keep winning and staying unbeaten where as most of the other teams will keep winning due to being a better team and or better squads. We have to win 5 out the last 8 and maybe a draw or two also. Sorry for me it’s no chance. We have been punching above our weight and playing teams all in the bottom 3. Not all but we have played the bottom 3 now.

in no way am I having a go or defeatist it’s just the reality of the situation… with 9 unbeaten and 8 games left we literally need to lose 2 games in 17. The fact we are even in this conversation is a miracle to the team and mark robins but it’s a step too far. More than likely to finish around 12th again and anything top half is a miracle and I’m very proud of them.
I agree mostly with this, its very hard to keep winning and we would have to win 5 out of 8 and draw 1 or 2 games. As soon as we lose it will be very hard, Swansea is never easy for Coventry City and that could be one of them.

I don't agree about finishing 12th though and we will be much higher than that.

Best game to make a play off position ,with 1game left.no pressure on the team even of it's Middlesbrough away.

Except then we have to play the form team who have just played us and all their players are rested.

Can see Middlesborough overtaking Sheff Utd, wouldn't be worried as much playing them over two legs

Ideally Middlesbrough are entrenched in 3rd and can’t go either way. Likely to rest players for the play offs

Quite frankly in the playoffs anything can happen. If we got that far the dynamics of games change. It'll be a set of knock out football. Every year you see supposedly top teams bottling it.

Getting that far is another matter though. It's so tight. Think there's too much competition at this point. Although given many of them are playing each other, if we do our bit we will jump into a spot on an easier trajectory than our recent strong run of form.

Not getting carried away yet, but I will start pissing my pants in a few weeks if we dispose of Stoke and Swansea.

of the 8 teams most likely to end up in playoffs (excluding ourselves), we've beat 6 of them this season, Luton was 2 draws, meaning its only Norwich we've not beaten!

If we get to the playoffs it is more than possible!

I’m sure the teams who end up 6th often have the better chance of winning it due to momentum - there must be stats for it somewhere.

Yes, one injury to a key player could spell the end of our season. But I think if we have 12 or 13 fit players good enough, over a season that could never work, but over 8 games with a bit of luck? And we don't need to win all of them.
We have kept up with Norwich, Watford, and West Brom over nearly 40 games, and included in that is our awful start.
Personally I think we have in the region of a 30% chance of top 6.

It's all so close and competitive that it's impossible to judge. So many permutations. It's as much dependant on other teams as it is us which makes it such a coin flip. I'm excited though
