These have quickly come to mind:
Dennis Mortimer, Jimmy Holmes, Graham Oakley, Danny Thomas, Les Sealey, Gary Thompson, Marcus Hall and Gary McSheffrey...sure you lot will mention others who came through as apprentices or youth.
With a bit of licence can I include Peter Ndlovu
Hopefully Callum Wilson will continue his progress and have a fruitful career.

Dave Busst I agree with....although like Ndlovu did technically start his career elsewhere. Ndlovu Highlanders in Africa, Busst Moor Green.

I believe Busst was in the first Team on £120.00 a week.

Lee Hurst had to call it a day so young, what a prospect , i reckon would have played for England.

Sorry about typo on Oakey.
But I agree with you....that is why we need an academy. We also have a heritage beyond an FA Cup win to be proud of.

I knew someone would post Willie Carr and Mick Ferguson. I have to say Bobby Parker is a good call..not so sure about Alan Green.

Graham Paddon anyone?

I may be stretching it here - Paul Dyson (maybe for winner against Liverpool), Tommy English for a bit.

I think that Alan Green was unfortunate that Ian Wallace came along when he did.

Think that the idea of the thread was players who came through the youth setup.
