My cousin reminded me the time when he got Robbie Keane on the back of his shirt and within a week he had left to go to inter Milan . If memory serves me right there was a fan with a Robert jani shirt . I thought I was so cool having jones on the back of the green and black striped shirt cobi jones . Any other names from the past you regret

Robbie Keane. Got the shirt before my holiday. Me, mum, dad and brother all had Keane on the back. We were all wearing them when some guy told us he’d just signed for Inter Milan that day

You could have simply changed the family name to Keane by Deadpoll
deadpool GIF by Deadpool's Fun Sack

Rarely mentioned ex player….Terry Tickles

But only because his name wouldn’t fit so against my better judgment, the club shop made me change Terry to Tez and that’s when the problems started.

Charlie McCann, was mates with his Dad as we used to play bowls together. He gifted me a signed u21s shirt with McCann on the back. Wore it out once, on my bike, and people just shouted 'Where's Maddie?' at me. The next week he moved to Man United.
Least you didn’t wear it on a holiday to the Algarve

Only ever had two names on the backs of shirts. Don't regret either.

One was Nilsson when we had that circle on the back around '98.

Other was my own surname on the back of the 92-93 third kit cos we were able to get it for free. Wasn't going to turn something down for free, but was worried a player might leave, so went with my own name. Thinking way too much even as a 12yo!

Actually tried to think of a way you could replace names because of it. Thought of having the name put on a separate piece of fabric which might be attached by press-studs (worried they might hurt if you fell on them), velcro (too easy for people to rip off and would probably look naff after a while) or sewn on and could be unpicked. What a dull child (but at least I started as I meant to go on!)
