Win, lose or draw managers have made sure players recognised the away support by going over and applauding them. You'll see Suralex marching the Man U players to fans at away games to make sure they recognise the effort/cash/time spent away from family of supporters who despite the result will be happy to see their 'idols' show a bit of humility.

i cant remember the last time this happened at a Coventry away game and this may explain some of the bad feeling between players and fans.

Baker couldnt have scurried off that pitch quicker than he did and the first player i saw come over to us was McGoldrick. A handful more did at a later point.

Im not saying our fans were angels today, far from it with Ballboygate and Fathertedkilbaneinpressiongate, but players have a duty to forge that relationship with fans at the low points to deserve the adulation at the high points.

Can't be easy for the players at times, "let's walk over to the fans to thank them for their support and bite our tongue when they tell us to get fooked!"

Having said that, not easy for the fans either. Only 1 away win last season.

Everyone is frustrated and not getting any. Wins I mean.

Not surprised

I don't blame them to be honest after the fans at today's game. Baker being called a "c**t" and Kilbane, the club captain, being called a "w**ker" by their own 'supporters'. No wonder Jordan Clarke and Chris Hussey looked like they were going to s**t themselves everytime they had the ball at the feet in front of the fans.

The lad was ten years old and he ran down to him and had a go! Shocking!

Wins in cups don't count really....no win in the league at all = total disgrace

When Kilbane brought the ball down under no pressure (other than time pressure to get an equaliser) he was about 10ft from me as I was on row C by the half way line.

He kicked the ball up the line (he thought) but just hoofed it straight out. There was a collectively groan and Kilbane told the fans to 'f-off' about 3 times before a group of fans about 30 seats towards the Crewe goal took exception and had a direct go back...at which point Killer started to 'converse' with rhetorical abuse whilst the ball was out of play.

Why should the players come over and applaud the fans if they know there going to get abused of there own fans as I saw few come over today and all they got was 1finger salute.
