Mark Marshall. Former winger at Barnet. Been out for 2 years for a drugs ban.

Think that's a bit harsh for somebody committed to banning drugs.

Are they trying to encourage drug use for our youngsters?

It's a fucking disgrace.

I thought that Clarke had walked out on Wolves already!

To be honest when you read a bit about him he could be a very useful addition. A lot of championship clubs were interested in him before his ban.

You'd have to be on drugs to sign for us (don't mean it, but couldn't resist).

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/drugs-ban-winger-given-chance-6650440

Will Anne Lucas have another Marlon. King Episode?

Not sure taking performance enhancing drugs is on the same level as breaking a woman's nose TBH. But I still maintain, if they guy has done his ban he should be welcomed back, same as if someone has done time. You got to rehabilitate at some point.

I know. I forgot a smiley at the end to show it wasn't a serious comment

Apparantly he's just recruited Onandi Lowe as his agent.

If you specialised in bad boys, there must be around to get together a pretty good squad.

You might be able to get a name and get a lot of good loans out of it.

A two year ban sounds very harsh. Was just reading the following article -

http://www.inattheside.com/friday-fitness-banned-substance-methylhexaneamine-explained/

Sounds on the face of it quite a weak 'performance enhancing' drug.

You're telling me it was a weak performance enhancing drug, he scored 7 in 71 games, it must have been shite!

By the looks and sound of Lucas she's a heavy smoker so I can't see her moaning about someone using drugs. That's what fags are.

You didn't need to bother with 'that's what's fags are' Torchy. I think we all know this

I had a gag about it being Robert Jarni because of the pattern on Croatia's kit but that's more checkerboard which is spelt just differently enough but I've sorta made the joke anyway haha bye

EDIT: even worse, I just noticed people got there already too. Leave me alone, it's Friday.

Its also a diuretic. Can be used as a masking agent for other drugs.

Isn't his ankle tag going to slow him down somewhat?

Isn't/wasn't it in some dietary supplements too.

Yeah it is in supplements. I'm not saying he was using it as a masking agent. Just that it may be a reason for a lengthy ban.

To be fair to the lad...I took Jack3d loads of times and I had no idea it had this shit in it. Jack3d is a pre workout supplement - most of which are just loaded with caffeine and creatine.

Obviously professional athletes need to be careful of what they take and get it all checked...but I bought a whole tub of that supplement and yammed it all down in about a month...and if I was a footballer I would've been banned apparently

Not sure which way the moral compass should go on this one.

He has done his time. He should be given a second chance. But as we know some people and football players will never change. And we have a squad full of young players that could go the wrong way if he hasn't changed. Saying that, a two year ban should be the massive kick up the arse he needed.....although even prison don't work for some :thinking about:

With such cases, you can always claim plausible deniability. A lower league player, taking a supplement. A 2 year ban (sounds slightly harsh) the player can hold his hands up and say yes I was taking this didn't realise what was in it. If however he gets banned for a similar offence....

The two year ban is the worrying part. You would have thought that a short ban and rehab would have been given if it was a minor mistake. But there again I don't know the facts of the case.
