This transfer window really does sum up how difficult it is to get players to move to CCFC.

A few irons in the fire but at least Slade managed to get that giant beast of centre forward that matches his style of play- the 5ft 11inch 18 year old......

Although he did pick up a decent centre half and a crocked right back (all the wrong side of 30).

Just looks like players don't want to come here-I presume for various reasons (wages, atmosphere, Owners, supporters etc)

So in the light of what has happened in this window maybe Mowbray's terrible recruitment at the beginning of the season is more understandable.

Can't disagree. It all boils down to the owners ultimately though.

Think we needed a target man.

Will have to see if he changes his style of play to suit the players now, that will be the test.

Defence is much stronger now, midfield debatable depending on if we sign any free agents and up front I'd rate Beavon over Sordell so far.

Will just need to say how he sets the team out.

From what I can see its 7 in 1 out with frees still available? happy to stand corrected if not.

Its on Slade now, he has the spine of a team that he wanted/picked/settled for, next 2 league games are huge, 4 points are a must 6 and its game on.

I think we need to win Saturday.

I know that 4 points from 2 games would be okay and a step in the right direction, but fear that a draw on Saturday could leave us even further behind. That in turn then leads to more pressure.

Also a win Saturday would give us a tremendous boost going into Tuesday's cup game.

Big ask, but we need to start winning.

He has one way if playing that us to boot it up to the striker, maybe the style :emoji_laughingf play is putting players off and being managed by a glorified pe teacher.

This window has been a total disaster we are now hoping Kwame Thomas can get fit.

If we don't win Saturday or Tuesday Slade should go he is a disaster and totally the wrong choice and take of that cap it makes you look an even bigger twat.

January is very had to do business for league one and two clubs unless you've done money to do the business. If you've not your hoping to persuade a loan man that your the club for him... and if your sat bottom and a club in turmoil it's a big big job.
Failing that you will be scouring the free's in the days after trying to salvage a season, like we will be.
I've never wanted to see a journey man target man style striker ever in my life as I do now. Hoping RS can find one, even if his legs have all but gone. If he can win a goal kick and flick it on, hold the ball up then get him in the next u23 game and check him out.
Tho saying that Lee Burge will never find him...
The plight of our squad was a massive job to overhaul in a window on frees but I feel we did well getting clarke in, he's made a big impact. Foley there still time, and Beavon never came with the tag of 10+ goals but he still adds value to the team

We have had a target man all year, it was Mowbray.

McBean and Wright don't really count as outs though as they were never in.

Biggest loss is McCann from those as well as being the only one who we haven't had a like for like for.

Can't agree about the defence, nothing to show any improvement, midfield is still weak and the attack is unproven, I would like the manager to pick a settled side as often as he can to get some pattern in the play and the team to know their roles. That is all he can do now

what? They were in the squad so in essence we're our players.

It's the same as when people counted Henderson as a loss.

McBean was with the u23's for most of it apart from a couple of games at the end in the cup.

Looking at the strikers alone, our transfer business is:

OUT
Sordell
Agyei
Wright
McBean (I take the point that he wasn't playing anyway)

IN
Beavon
Vernam
Folivi

Realistically, we aren't looking much better off in the area we desperately need an improvement. My only hopes are that either we can sign someone on a Free Transfer urgently to sit up front or Kwame Thomas comes back from injury and is half decent...

I'm trying to be positive but I'm struggling...

I would have happily allowed Willis to go if the funds could have been used to "buy" a striker over 6ft - it's our biggest weakness up front Beavon is a no 10 rather than a no. 9

You missed Foley and Rawson off the IN list.

You have to remember our defenders score more than our strikers.
