Thought the decision to play bright was the wrong one. Never in the game

Hiwula again not the type of player to play in that position but not much choice

Watched on Sky TV - a good hard won fight and generally another good team performance. Well done to our fans too.

Burge 5 - would've been 4 but for 2 good saves near the end
Sterling 6 - some wayward passing
Willis 8 - got through a lot of work and looked solid
Hyam 6 - with Burge, he was possibly culpable for their goal?
Mason 5 - was poor in first half and better in second half
Kelly 8 - another good performance
Bayliss 7 - was a handful at times and unlucky to be booked
Bright 5 - just looked a bit slow and off the pace today
Thomas 6 - struggled against tough defenders
Hiwula 6 - a bit anonymous, but a great pass to set up our goal
Bakayoko 6 - it was definitely a penalty

Subs
Shipley 7 - worked hard - good to see him score even if it was an easy goal
Meyler 6 - helped to mange the game towards the end
Wakefield 6 - showed a couple of glimpses of his pace

Burge 5. Pan hands, can't except that "he made a good save at the end". Was straight at him. Just luckily in the right place.

Sterling. 5. Not a very good game today. Piled through Hylton in the area late on and on another day could of conceded a penalty.

Willis. 8. Dealt with the best strikers in the league with ease today. Great 200th appearance.

Hyam. 6. Down from 7 for losing his man for their 1st. That said, a ball floating on the 6 yard box SHOULD be gobbled up by the keeper (as seen the last 2 week's).

Mason. 6. Done well defensively, still looks dreadful going forward though. So indecisive.

Thomas. 5. Don't think any forwards got into the game today. Mainly because when we got there the passing was so innacurate and weak.

Kelly. 5.5. Poor 1st half. Improved in the 2nd so up half a point.

Bayliss. 5. Same as above. Floated in and out of the game.

Hiwula. 5.5. Extra half a mark for the assist.

Bright. 5. Hardly even noticed he was on the pitch.

Shipley. 6. Marked up 1 for the goal but then disappeared like the rest of the forward line.

Baka. N/A. Should of won a penalty but did nothing else before he came off.

I think the points for the full backs are too low. I know neither of them were very adventurous today but they were part of a unit that kept Luton to few chances.

Amazing how much more balanced we look and points we collect with Shipley on the pitch. Doesn't seem to do anything special (goal apart today) but can't be coincidence yet there's always whining if he starts or comes on.
With Shipley lost 9 of 23, without lost 4 of 11. So the ratio of losses is worse with him in the team this season. While not an indication of much it does prove your point isn't entirely correct

to play him you have to drop either Kelly or Bayliss or switch to 4-5-1 to accommodate him. He isn't up to it as a left sided midfielder in a 4-4-2 at this level. A year as a regular midfield sub maybe the best thing for him

Is that based on the games he played or when actually on the pitch? Also what's the points ratio. Thx in advance.

On the pitch as per your original statement. Points gained with him is slightly higher percentage but then he has only started 15 of those 23 games. For example at Charlton he played 1 minute when we won so could be argued that was a game played without him

Just done starts only. 15 starts 5 wins 3 draws 7 defeats. Sub appearances played only 152 minutes across 8 games. Therefore the stats based on starts only show 40% points won with him and 39% without. Depending how you count sub appearances it would be higher without him as 5 wins this season he has been on the pitch for a total of 68 minutes of these wins.

Have to worry about anybody who has that all worked out ready for when somebody mentions Shipley.

What shoe size is he? Where does he live?

Luton had won the last 19 games where they had taken the lead. They are unbeaten in 22(?) games. They are 5 points clear at the top of the league. They are vastly experienced compared to our team (on Sky, the commentator noted that we were like an under 23 team). I’m not surprised that we were dominated in an away game against a team that’s flying, but we stood up and didn’t lose. To me, that’s a positive.
