Burge :6 - Not much wrong.

Grimmer: 6 - Good first half, should have shot on a couple of opportunities. Not so good in the second.
Hyam: 4.5 lost his man. Very disappointed in him today, has been our best player so far.
Willis: 5 - Won a fair amount, gave it a good go in the second.
Mason: 6 - Not bad. Continuing to improve.

Doyle: 3 - After a great game last week, back to a Blackpool performance by Doyle. He was so poor. Misplaced passes, slowed the game down and failed to rally the players.
Bayliss: 5 - Few decent turns but lacked the cutting edge (AGAIN).
Thomas: 4 - His shooting was appalling. Very similar to Ryan Kent. All the ability in the world but awful end product.
Shipley: 3 - Poor.
Andreu: 3 - Also, very poor. Looks knackered.
JCH: 4 - Another player to make a step down after a good game. Not won as much in the air this week. Missed a handful of headers.

Subs

Bakayoko : 1 - Awful player. Made to look even worse by the long ball. Edit: 3 *.
Chaplin: 5 - Worked hard. Dropped too deep.
Allassani: 3 - Thrown in the deep end.

Christ, imagine if Bakayoko missed as many chances as the other players. It's pretty laughable.

Chaplin was dropping deep as that is where he was playing, the same as Andreu.

Burge 6 - did nothing wrong, kicking appears to have improved
Grimmer 7 - really frustrating half from him. Shot when he should’ve crossed and crossed when he should’ve shot. That being said, he was getting into great positions and was a real threat going forward. Glad he’s back in the team.
Willis 6 - fairly solid
Hyam 6 - ditto
Mason 7 - similar to Grimmer, great first half. Faded in the second
Bayliss 5 - out of sorts and out of form. Needs a rest. Not sure what he did today
Doyle 5 - distribution wasn’t great, trademark diagonal balls weren’t coming off
Shipley 5 - did ok. Nothing special
Thomas 7 - a real spark, electrifying pace. Guilty of missing a couple of great opportunities.
JCH 6 - worked hard. Recurring theme, missed a glorious chance for the equaliser

Chaplin 5 - struggled to make an impact, a couple of nice touches. Expect him to start next game
Bakayoko 3 - not changed my opinion on him. Happy to be proved wrong. Someone teach him the offside rule
Allassani 4 - ran around a bit. Hopefully will be given more of a chance in the coming weeks

Thoroughly fucked off we lost to Rochdale (as usual), they were there for the taking in the first half and we blew it. Story of our season. Should’ve beaten, should’ve beaten Gillingham and should’ve beaten these tossers today. So frustrating.

Burge - 7 good kicking and commanded box well
Grimmer - 6 some decent runs and deliveries into the box
Willis - 5 rushes everything when he should take more time rather than hoofing it out, awful positioning for their goal standing a couple of yards in the goal
Hyam - 7 good in the air and did very little wrong other than a few stupid fouls
Mason - 6 decent game but seems scared to take on an opponent
Doyle - 1 massively off the pace, needs to do us a favour and retire already
Bayliss - 6 decent game but lacks good link up play within the final third
Shipley - 0 how he is a professional footballer I’ll never know
Andreu - 3 went missing throughout
Thomas - 6 decent game but should of had a hat trick at least
Clarke-Harris - 6 same as Thomas

Chaplin - 6 looked decent but didn’t offer much in the final third
Allassani - N/A didn’t get involved as we decided to good it towards him
Bakayoko- N/A offered nothing when on

Embarrassing to throw Bakayoko under the bus. Shipley did fuck all in that match, less than Bakayoko at Blackpool but he'll avoid the flack because he's 'one of our own' and scored a goal at Wembley.

I thought Grimmer was pretty poor today, yes he got forward and attacked but he nearly cost us because he was knackered and couldn't get back. Not too sure how he got man of the match.

Burge 7 - distribution was a lot better
Grimmer 6 - did ok generally going forward
Willis 7 - decent game
Hyam 6 - started well but got bullied by Henderson second half
Mason 7 - excellent first half, nullified second half
Bayliss 6 - excellent in flashes. Needs more of a presence.
Thomas 6 - should have scored. Created plenty though and kept going
Andreu 3 - lack of pace was stopping him getting on the ball more
Shipley 1 - nothing positive. At one point Mason made up ten yards on him to get back and make a challenge that Shipley should have comfortably dealt with. League 2 player at best
JCH 6 - led the line generally well. Won headers but should have scored.

Bakayoko, Chaplin, Allassani all 5. Rochdale were killing the game by the time they came on hard to do anything when the ball was hardly in play.

JCH 7 for effort and positioning but only 5 because of poor finishing. Should have had 2 headed goals.

I'd expect no different from Bakayoko.

Problem is with Bakayoko, it's not just missing chances, it's that he's not a very good footballer.

It's more because he is the latest boo boy. Even when he scored a goal people were trying their best to be negative about it.

Second time I've seen this Bakayoko being thrown under the bus comment. He's just not a good footballer and he cost a phenomal amount of money at this level. If he plays well, I'll praise him. Same with McNulty, I slated him also, but was happy to accept I was wrong.

Yeah, I know what you're saying but people are giving him stick because he has had some shockers.

When he scored, he still only had a decent game. Nothing special.

It's a ratings thread about today's match though, not "who don't you like and want to moan about".

I'd bet he had more touches than Allassanni and a better pass completion rate but he will be the one with the lowest rating.

It is a bit weird.

It is exactly the same as when people didn't like Biamou and brought him missing a chance about 6 games ago as a reason to be angry at him. Yet completely ignoring other people missing better chances.

The ratings about today, he was brought on with no real chance to do anything. How's that a shocker?

Shipley has had much worse games, missed much easier chances but nothing said at all.

Mason for me was man of the match Doyle was all alone central no support in the battle off Bayliss.

Wouldn't go that far, first 10-15 he was shocking. Then he got lots of time on the ball and got forward but his decision making was a bit dodgy but he seemed to be our main outlet and had a good spell.

His fitness is really bad.

Think a lot of the ratings are too low based on the result I’d go, there was some great play first half and could easily have scored 4-5

Burge 7
Grimmer 7
Mason 7
Willis 8
Hyam 7
Doyle 6
Bayliss 7
Thomas 7 (if only he could finish)
Shipley 4
Andreu 5
JCH 7

Delighted that others see what i see. Shipley is utterly useless. He doesnt make a challenge, rarely makes a decent pass and is a general hindrance.

How can you have a midfield player who is that slow? I think people see him as some sort of poor man's James Milner but he's so ineffective it's unreal.

Mason probably was my motm too tbf. First half he was excellent really good. Bit of credit to Keith Hill for making the changes that nullified our attacking threat down the flanks.

Second half Mason sprinted like a maniac for the overlap, covered some serious ground and Shipley didn't even try to play him in quickly.

He's not good enough for this level, especially if we want to progress.

The icing on the cake for me was the first half when Mason slipped a ball through to him in the box and he contrived to turn a great attacking position into a pass back out of the box because he just couldn't sort his body out quickly enough and didn't want to consider having a go with his right foot.
