I have - he didn’t and when he did it was doing the defenders work for them by bouncing the back back to their keeper - in fact his best header for the attack was setting up a chance for them. He is a defenders dream

Also you didn’t answer the question - would they want him in their team - yes or no?

Oh hello again Grendel. Good to see you have started mentioning Biamou again. I didn't hear much after JCH came in and had a shocker last week or after his brilliant performance against Cheltenham.

Today was his poorest game for a few months and yet he it was still a respectable performance.

A few months? How did he do at Notts county?

He was better than JCH who replaced him at half-time.

He won more headers than Stead when they got pumped up front to him... No idea if they would want him or not, he clearly isn't as good as the one that scored.

He won plenty more headers than he lost, most of them flicked on and nobody really gambled so it was a pointless tactic.

It's weird, you didn't mention anything about JCH running it out of play or when he really doesn't win any headers week in week out.

What I will say though is that Jch should have had 25 mins and if he had I think we may have won. He was excellent when he came on

Burge 7 Done everything he needed to and no cock ups!
Grimmer 5 Crossing was terrible and mistake for the goal.
Stokes 7 Defensively sound.
Hyam 7 Assured next to Davies.
Davies 8 Headed everything away and played County at their own game mixing it up with them.
Shipley 6 Reasonable first half but faded and was subbed.
Kelly 8 Man of the match for me, him and Doyle kept us going. How can some people only give him 5?
Doyle 7 As per Kelly but silly yellow card took a bit of the sting out of his tail.
Bayliss 7 Always on the front foot and if he hadn't of been going forward we wouldn't have been awarded the "Penalty"
Biamou 6 Early season showing again from him.
McNulty 8 Always threatening and intelligent play, unlucky not to score when he hit the post and good penalty under extreme pressure.
Subs Ponticelli 5 Didn't really bring much to the party but was out wide.
JCH 5 Not really on long enough but one decent run.

Robins 7 We were the better team and to go into next week with it all to play for he seemed pleased. So am I to be fair.

I thought Davies was motm and has probably turned out to be the clubs most consistent defender

Yes he did win most of his headers and as Nick has said as there was no one else in a city shirt around it ended in them gaining possession can't blame him for that.
Plus came back and defended when needed made a cracking tackle on the left just before he went off when they were streaming forward and we'e out numbering us.
But you have your blinkers on so he must have been shit.

Over the 90 stokes had the sloppiest game , grimmer ultimately made the mistake that lead to the goal .
Stokes decision making at times is bizarre

I’m now one of those big time Charlie’s, first game I’ve been to since Wembley.

Technically as individuals it’s as good as I’ve seen. Everyone looks relatively comfortable on the ball. Football as a game is another world to 10/15 even 5 years ago.

Notts turned up with a plan, and bullied us to nice little triangles and decent movement with no end product followed by a dink into the box with nobody ready for it. They were there is as far as I’ll go dissecting their performance, but they had a game plan and we got away with a draw in the end.

Not happy with the result but after being 1 down came away not annoyed.

We do that all season. The no ens product stuff

We really lack brave players to just out cross in first time or througjball. Bayliss one of the few

Even a smash it low into the box will do. Hope for a deflection. The cheeky penalty spot dinks were driving me mad.

It’s such an obvious out of ideas move. And I’m not blaming the player with the ball or even the players in the box really. We were either outthought or their players were huge machines. Pick one.

Yup. Its not rocket science. You hitnitnhard the defender may have trouble. Slow and soft tends to be easier!

Grimmer crossing was poor and stokes has forgotten how to attack

Burge 7
Grimmer 6.5
Davies 8.5 MOTM
Hyam 8
Stokes 6.5
Doyle 7
Kelly 8
Shipley 6.5
Bayliss 7.5
McNulty 8
Biamou 7.5

Sub's
Ponticelli 5
JCH -

Conditions prevented us from capitalising from some good possession in the first half, Bayliss and Shipley struggled to carry the ball in the standing water. Special mentions to Kelly and McNulty but the pairing of Hyam and Davies was solid as a unit. Shame Hyam wasn’t on Davies and Stokes wavelength stepping up for the county goal which was a nice finish in all fairness.

Tom Davies gets my MOTM with another quality display defensively and did a special job on Duffy and Forte at the end just before he pulled up.

We got one of Davies doing a number on Forte just before his hamstring looked to go?

You really do have a strange fetish for inflicting injury on the opposition...

Was disappointed with Davies for doing that. Notwithstanding the stupidity of a potential red if spotted, but how can we bleat about their employment of the dark arts when our own players are engaging in such antics?

A good game that a woefull ref tried his best to spoil, great atmosphere inside that the weather didn’t dampen, and there’s no way we didn’t deserve to get that late goal.

Hope it’s a defining late goal (momentum swinger), a bit like Mansfield away.

We know exactly what we got to do now.

These ratings for Shipley are harsh considering he was playing in a swamp for a lot of the game. The lad has got bags of talent and determination,

Frustrating game as we outplayed them and were clearly the better team, however a combination of the awful pitch and their tactics worked against us.

Burge - 7 - did nothing wrong and was in tough conditions for a goalkeeper, especially one whose confidence is frail. Kept his concentration all game.

Grimmer - 6 - typical performance; always an outlet, but no end product and poor defensively.

Davies - 9 - I hope those who didn’t rate him at the start of the season are suitably embarrassed.

Hyam - 7 - solid enough. Looks better next to Davies.

Stokes - 6.5 - I wish he was still the same player as two years ago. He has so much of the ball but can’t do much with it. Solid defensively as always though.

Kelly - 6 - if he was good at football he’d be class. Always wants the ball and always gets into good positions, but has zero attacking intent or creativity. Whether that’s him or the tactics I’m not sure.

Doyle - 6.5 - yellow card impacted his game. Still put in a great shift and will be key again next game. He needs to stop being the playmaker though as that really is not his strength.

Shipley - 6 - worked hard and had the worst of the conditions, but needs to impact the game more. He showed in glimpses he can create things, but drifts in and out.

Bayliss - 8 - offensively he’s a class above this league. Suited him playing in the 10 role. Worried County will target him for a crunching tackle early on, but he doesn’t tend to hide to be fair. We need him on the ball more as our creativity relies on him.

Biamou - 6 - quiet second half, but he did seem to be playing wide right a lot. He did win a lot of flick ons and technically he’s a good player. Needs to work more in tandem with McNulty.

McNulty - 7.5 - worked hard and looked more comfortable taking their defenders on than usual, which he should be as his pace will scare defenders. Good penalty.

Ponticelli - 5 - touched the ball a handful of times and was lost on the wing. Weird sub and not his fault.

JCH - 5 - genuine question; am I missing something? A few people have said he made an impact when he came on. All I remember him doing is running the ball out?

As I said we are on the better team on every level; they will be fearing us.
