Errmmm, what about the time he threw the ball out to Bayliss when Bayliss had his back to him and was completely oblivious that the ball was coming his way?

Could have easily cost us a goal, that.

Thing is Bayliss should have been looking, it is a two way thing, taught that at 6 years old ffs
FFS last week he held the ball for to long and people were moaning this week he throws it out fast and people are moaning.
We win 4-0 and people are moaning, so he did have the one clanger like I mensioned earlier same mistake happened in the England game goal keeper came out missed the ball happens every week, top keepers, average keeps and shit keepers.

I by no means think he is a top keeper just feel sorry for the lad, no matter what he does no matter how he plays some just seem to get on his back, same as Haynes gets beaten once and he is shit doesn't matter about the rest of the game.

4-0 smile

So no other keeper does that I suppose.
Just look at the goals we scored yesterday their keeper was woeful but some on here would pick him before Burge.
Just blinded by hatred.

I don't hate Burge he has done well at times but really let's himself down by time and time again making very poor decisions... David James used to be the same but he done alright for himself and Grobbelar too at times

Haynes was beaten most times.

Why should Bayliss have been looking? He was running out after Burge got it expecting a kick, should all players run backwards?

He should have been taught to have eye contact with the player he’s passing/throwing to. To throw it to Bayliss was shocking as it would have been clear that Bayliss had his back to him.

What about our goals we scored? Not sure the keeper had much of a chance with any of them did he?

Blinded by love for Burge it seems.

If we'd have been Grimsby yesterday some on here would be hailing Burge for the 1 on 1 save from JCH and saying he had no chance with the other.

Maybe Bayliss should have been looking but it is Burge's decision to then throw the ball out to a player that is not looking at him. It's a shame his decision making is so poor because technically he is not terrible. The decision making will hold him back at league two level unless it dramatically improves soon.

The team played well but given the poor opposition were never really pressured. The pleasing thing for me was the overall play from the team as a whole, from the first minute they were on the front foot and kept pushing. The team also moved the ball a lot quicker and with purpose. I didn't really think it was a game of two halves as so often has the case I think they maintained standard throughout. There seemed to be plenty of confidence shown by the players and yes enjoyment. If mistakes were made (and all of them did make mistakes) they worked hard individually and as a team to correct them

I would give JCH, McNulty, Doyle and Grimmer 8 the rest get 7. Overall the team gets a 7+

It was enjoyable to watch

Players should indeed be looking for the ball and ready to receive it, but Burge quite obviously in turn, can ONLY throw it to players who are looking.

It's madness just to throw it in the hope that everyone is facing the right way.

That's his judgement call. He has to judge the situation, see who is available and who is in space and who is ready to accept the ball.

If he's just going to throw it out anyway to anyone he might as well just put a blindfold on.

We need to call it when there's an obvious error.

I don't think he had a poor game, but did make two bad mistakes.

Only Coventry fans can win a game 4-0 and moan about our keeper! Who by the way has conceded less goals than any other keeper in the league by some margin. I’m sure you’ll say, that’s down the the defence but Burge has made some pivotal saves throughout this season.

The point of this thread is to rate players and when looking surge you have to knock a point or two off him for errors he didn't have to make. The shocking thing is that people cannot accept criticism of him at all.

Burge has come on leaps and bounds this season in my opinion. Maybe it's a case of he's finally found his level but regardless I've been impressed with his progress. I mean he still kicks 1 accurate ball out of 10 but nobody's perfect

Yeah, don't get it.

So if we win 4-0, but one player has a howler (let's say Haynes for instance), are we not allowed at all to talk about his performance?

Lots went right on Saturday and there were just a few small things that went wrong.

I think it is perfectly right and proper to mention them and have a debate about them on here.

Nowt's perfect and it has to be worrying when your keeper is throwing the ball to someone who has their back turned away from him.

Burge did okay apart from two errors.

It's the same when people pick up comments in the match thread in the spell where were were dog shite and then try and use them. Doesn't alter the fact we were awful, it just really shows they have logged on and seen the score on BBC and they clearly don't get the context.

And it isn't just Burge by any means.

This season there has been plenty of criticism of....

Beavon
LOB
Biamou
Willis
Haynes
Vincenti
Haynes
Kelly
The DKE's
Barrett
JMD

That's a large chunk of the squad.

Sometimes the international one plays like a crappy non-leage one and the non-league one plays like an international.

It's like Mr Jekyll and Dr Hyde... but in Haynes' case it's the ginger Bale and Bambi

Also, don't miss out McNulty out on your list. He got so much criticism at one point the Telegraph jumped on the bandwagon.
