don't disagree but Jones gave us that bit of quality that was crucial to winning the game.

Do people think Rod should come straight back in?
If so for Willis? Or Davies- which would be harsh after tonight

Jones looks like he's actually grown in height to me as well as bulking up a bit, now he feels confident going either way around defenders, they're really struggling with him

we could go 3-5-2

Grimmer up the right
Jodi up the left
3 c backs
kelly and doyle protecting
Nazon and biamou up top
Vincenti in behind

stokes and beavon to the bench

Yes, he'll be player of the season if he carries on as he's started. Willis and Mcdonald should be first choice.

Burge - 7. Pretty steady throughout, kicking better, one very good save

Grimmer - 7. Thought he grew into the game and became a real threat in that second half

Willis - 6.5. Steady enough and quite soild

Davies - 8. Steady and solid too same as Willis, but also showed calmness on the ball and some good distribution too.

Stokes - 6. Started the game poorly but was a lot more like his old self as the game wore on.

Vincenti - 6. Thought he was very poor in the first half, but in the second half he was much more fired up and involved and battled really well.

Kelly - 7. Impressed with him today. Some good link up play and supported the attack too.

Doyle - 7. Really battling display from him today and he was all over the pitch and in the opposition's faces.

Jones - 7.5. Would have been an 8, but he was quite wasteful at times and didn't use team mates when in better positions.

Beavon - 7. One good shot in the first half and one lovely bit of link up play with Nazon, but otherwise quiet in those opening 45 mins. Second half he linked up well, found a bit of space and put 4 lovely through balls for his fellow attackers. Interlinked well with Grimmer and Jones.

Nazon - 6.5. Started off brightly, then completely faded, so I guess got a rocket up the arse from Robins at half time. Second half he started like he started the first. Very good goal, but surely he can contribute more to games than he did tonight.

No one played badly for me tonight. Without being spectacular it was a good solid team performance. Tough rainy night everyone dug in and out a shift in. We were better than Carlisle and got a deserved win.

The duck is young and learning. He is Exciting and knows where the net is so stick with him for now. It's a long old season.

Thing about Nazon, he is solid built and looks to be a powerful player but got knocked off the ball 2 times tonight, looked lost at times didn't really terror their defenders but scored a great goal started to look livelier and then went down with apparent cramp although not sure how he got it, I didn't rate Beavon tonight although he did start linking up better 2nd half, still think he is being played out of position and could be utilised much better elsewhere but not sure where, Kelly and Doyle good tonight, Jones full of confidence but needs to know when to shoot and when to pass, trying to shoot with 2 players just in front of him isn't the right time, everyone battles well and as soon as we had scored we grew in confidence as a team, winning brings confidence lets hope it continues...another ugly win but hey its 3 points who cares

Did Burge tip that rocket on to the crossbar? Also made an excellent save at 0-0

Would agree with most of that, stu, but definitely believe Grimmer should be higher. He was excellent in that second half I felt.

Give him a chance. He hasn't had much game time this season. He should get fitter. And having him just run at players will have them all over the place.

Yeah, but agree in the strength. He shouldn't be getting knocked off the ball by players half his size.

He did look impressive at times last night though.

Nice to see kelly break forward for once... played a great through ball for the 1st goal. Willis and Davies were outstanding both solid. 2nd half was the best ive seen us so far this season

Just watched the goals back and the build up for the first was fantastic, better than anything I've seen in league two so far. Really well executed passes by Vincenti and Kelly, a great finish as well.

Burge 8 great reflex save first half , don't think he kicked it off pitch once for those people who seem to think kicking is most important part of being a keeper
Grimmer 7 decent
Stokes 6 solid think he's been told to stay back as rarely gets forward this season
Willis 8
Davis 8 motm good cover for mcdonald
Kelly 7 great pass for first goal, needs to try and get on half turn more to play forward
Doyle 7 usual self
Jones 8 lively
Vincentti 7 was poor first half, got better lucky not to be sent off
Nazon 7 took goal well
Beavon 7

Burge 7.5 - couple of good saves (I also reckon he tipped that thunderbolt onto the crossbar), again commanded his area well and did what he had to do
Grimmer 7.5 - close to his best game for us so far for mine, was very threatening in the second half
Willis 7 - yep, he was good
Davies 7.5 - have no issue with the MOTM award personally, though it could so easily have gone to one or two others (would've put Jones as MOTM myself)
Stokes 6.5 - pretty solid, not quite the same impetus going forward as Grimmer, but dependable nonetheless
Doyle 7 - a good steady performance
Kelly 7.5 - I'm giving him half a mark extra for playing the through ball for Nazon's goal, as quite frankly I didn't believe he had it in him!
Vincenti 7 - after Saturday's decent performance, and a back up showing last night, I'm hoping we're starting to see why he was signed in the first place. (He's still not really a wide player though.) His goal was....well the finish wasn't great but the cross was good, he was in the right place and did enough to score, so fair play.
Jones 8 - agree that once again he was our biggest threat; also agree that at times he took the wrong option, but his confidence is great to see (and I hope it's infectious)
Beavon 7.5 - I'm happy to line the bloke up and pot him when he's junk, but last night I thought he was really quite good. One or two slightly tame shots in the first half (though at least they were on target!) but throughout the night he worked his butt off, linked up well going forward, and laid off quite a few good balls to our advantage.
Nazon 6.5 - feels weird to be giving our opening goalscorer such a low score, but he was...alright. I love that when he gets the ball his first instinct seems to always be to make a beeline for the opposition's box, and that he loves taking people on. He drifted out of the game a little though. Goal was well taken.

Subs:
Biamou 6 - came on, did a job and I didn't think he looked totally out of place. I do still think he has a lot to learn, though.
Devon KE n/a - not on long enough to rate, but in his brief time on the park, I thought he was lively, always put himself into space to pick up the ball, and he got up in the face of Carlisle's keeper so good on him.

Overall, it was a good, solid team performance and a deserved result.

I think he did once, but I chalked it down to an overhit long pass rather than a miskick

Edit to add: your comment on Vincenti was spot on too regarding a potential sending off - there was a very late challenge that I don't think he was even whistled for that I was convinced was a foul, and a second yellow card.

Was definitely a foul and a 2nd yellow was bizarre when the ref didn't blow and we broke everyone seemed to stop!

I thought at the time he played on, as if he thought Vincenti was fouled.
