RCC 5 - Nothing to do, distribution was shaky at times.
Ricketts 2 - Shite leader, shite defender, get rid.
Martin 5 - Nothing to note
Stephens - 5 See above
Lorentzson 4 - See above, however he is too defensively minded for a RB.
Cole 3 - Shite, should've taken the pen.
Vincelot 4 - Why was he playing a number 10 role?
Fleck 5 - Got the ball forward at times, that was about it.
Murphy 5 -Shit penalty, though wasn't as bad as people made out, least he tried taking players on and getting forward.
Jones 6 - Looked decent, but only because every other midfielder was worse
MAF 4 - Shite

Subs:

Tudgay 5 - Nothing to note
Lameries 4 Sorry I just don't get it
Thomas 5 - Looked pacy, might as well give him a run out.

Still think looking at that I've scored some players too high.

Rcc 5 little to do still makes bad distribution decisions and maybe should have done a little better with goal
Lorentzon 6 got forward and is getting better
Ricketts 5 no Worsethan normal
Martin 6 done ok
Stephens 6 ok
Vincelot 6 tried hard
Murphy 5 would have been a great penalty if the goalie had dived the other way
Cole 4 too slow and slowed the play down too much
Jones 7 has pace and likes to take his man on
Fortune 2 total shit spends too much time playing as a winger

subs

none made a real difference

yes there is one player missing but as he goes missing every game I have decided to miss him out

Rcc - 6 will have to see the goal again before giving him any blame
Ricketts - 4 in really poor form and captaining a sinking ship
Martin - 5 pretty steady but both him and lorentzon were skinned far to easily for the goal
Stephens - 6 at least tried to get us forward when he could
Lorentzon - 5 see above, composed going forward but not so sure about his defensive attributes
Fleck - 4 far too deep and really struggled to control the game
Vincelot - 5 been on poor form recently but after playing cb Friday Mowbray decides to play him no 10?
Cole - 3 slowed play down when playing further forward, not a winger and seemed to be a clone of fleck when playing next to him
Jones - 7 worked hard and drove us forward but fear he may be worked out as he kept coming inside on his left foot, seemed a similar player to Kent
Murphy - 5 devoid of confidence and the penalty miss won't have done that any favours
Fortune - 6 worked hard running the channels but failed to create anything

Subs all failed to impact the game. Felt tudgay for fortune was like for like in a game where we needed something different. Would like to see lamerais get more game time over players who won't be here next season.

What I meant was I didn't feel he offered much going forward. Everytime he got forward he kept passing back and then we're back to square one.

My personal opinion of course.

If anything Lorentzon gets to far forward to quickly and set one point was in the forward line and probably thought no need to rush back as Fleck is about forty yards behind me scratching his Arse.

What? Totally the opposite I would say. He spent more time in the opposition box than he did in ours!

He also set up Murphy for the chance with a lay off on the 6 yard box, which Murphy should have scored. He set up Fortune in the area with a great pass, but Fortune was just offside and he slid a ball in for Cole to have a shot too, again in the penalty box.

He offers loads going forwards. It's his defensive game that isn't as good as it should be.

I thought Lorentzson and Jones down the right was the only decent thing all night. Seemed to have a good understanding of each other.

Rcc 6 steady again
Lorentzson 6 looked to get forwards
Martin 6 steady also
Stephens 5 not really in it much
Ricketts 4 utter rubbish,
Vincelot 4 seasons fading fast
Fleck 4 time to let go if he wants out
Jones 6.5 only one with any promise
Cole 5 the American Dream looks appealing
Murphy 5 bits and pieces
Fortune 4 was he there?

Tudgay 5 half chances
Lameires 4 didn't help his cause to start
Thomas 5 tried.
Man of the match jody Jones. Our only spark, when he had the ball you felt something just may happen. Says something when a young lad from daggenham keeps putting his arms out saying offer something for me to pass to.

Has anyone seen George Thomas for the U21's?

I continue to be a bit nonplussed by him. He just seems to come on full of energy and runs round a bit, but offers nothing.

Haven't seen any promise as yet. Is it just too soon for him?

Agree with this. He certainly looked a promising full back attacking wise. He tried to make something happen and could have had an assist.

I'd say he's doing well to stake a claim for a new contract, if that's what he wants.

One negative I noticed about him is that when he is forwards he is not the quickest at getting back.

Get the feeling that TM will not be offering him a contract.

He also put some good tackles in, he didn't fly in but he managed to dispossess their players a few times but then start an attack from it.

Couldn't understand why TM subbed him yesterday...his support of Jones was giving us our best outlet. Like Otis I suspect TM doesn't fully trust him yet but I hope he gets a contract

Everytime Jones got it, Lorentzon would run into the space to try and get the ball like he should have. Instead of running to the corner flag he was running towards the goal.

I am not sure why he wouldn't trust him, he played much better than the experienced Captain on the other side.

He was doing that. I reckon he was more in the opposition box than any other City player.

Always getting forwards and making himself available and he could have easily have had two assists last night.

Absolutely I thought he was our best player until subbed. Looked comfortable on the ball, composed and unruffled both in defence and going forward.

It is what we lack with the midfield, the only other player who gets forward is Rose. When we attack he does his best to get into the box.

Whereas when Jones was getting the ball and running, Murphy and Cole were behind him and it meant only Fortune was in the box with all of their defenders. The other 2 attacking mids should be in the box, then Fleck should be lurking about for the second ball if they head it clear to shoot / put it back in.

some understanding, "jones you stick by the halfway line cos im running upfront to play as a striker! and if i get that ball i am gonna pass it back to you immeditley!"

What frustrated me was MAF would get the ball out wide, sometimes in a good position. You'd look on the box and no one would be their only 4 defenders. Why did Murphy not look up an see MAF out wide so if he's there who's in the box?? That could be me... No he was still strolling along.

Or I am going to pass it to Murphy as he is in a great goal scoring position...

RCC 6 - Nothing of note, claimed well a couple of times.
Lorentzson 6 - Lively, linked reasonably well with Jones, got into the box more than Fortuné.
Martin 6 - Solid enough.
Stephens 5 - Weakest game for us I thought. Likes to bring the ball out which is great but was consistently beaten by the impressive Porter.
Ricketts 6 - Not as bad as some make out.
Vincelot 5 - The only one looking to press 1st half but still looks way off his old self.
Fleck 6 - Did try to drive us forward but dropped deeper & deeper to try & control the game but lacked options in front.
Jones 7 MOTM. Decent full debut, looks lively. Only concern is he's a little predictable, cuts inside on to his left almost every time.
Murphy 6 - Tried. Poor penalty & his head noticeably dropped after that. He can score & create though & shouldn't have been withdrawn.
Cole 3 - Sucks all the momentum out of our attacking play as he's so off the pace both physically & mentally. How he stayed on ahead of Murphy is baffling.
Fortuné 3 - Woeful.

SUBS:
Tudgay 5 - Tried.
Lameiras 4 - Show pony. Suicidally gave the ball away on the edge of our area.
G. Thomas 5 - Ran around.

Noticed at one pint their goalkeeper bowled it out to the right back who immediately played it forward and they were in our half on the attack. That's the way to do it. What we do, seemingly automatically, is give it to someone with his back to the play on the edge of our box and surrounded by one or two eager forwards. Or it gets to Joe Cole, who turns himself dizzy running around 360 degrees. Every Cov players first thought these days is to pause and play a safe pass sideways or backwards, except Jones, who actually made defenders move by running forward into space with the ball.
