Hamer looked fresher than the rest after his 2 game suspension and it showed, 8.5

Moore did very well when called upon 8.0

Gyokeres worked tirelessly with little support, but had the legs to get on the score sheet at the end 8.0

Maatsen is growing into that midfield role, did well to find the space and call for the pass that Hamer supplied, and the finish was inch perfect. 8.0

Everyone else 7.0.

Moore 9 (handling was excellent and then 2 brave saves at their feet. Quick off his line)
Kane 6 (got into some decent positions but fluffed his crosses)
Bidwell (didn't offer much going forward although improvement with his interchanges. Decent in the air)
Hyam 7 (some great defensive headers and interceptions but passing wasn't good)
McFadzean 7 (not as dominant in the air as usual but orchestrated as usual)
Clarke-Salter 6 ( faired okay but needed to be closer to his man leading to goal)
Hamer 9 motm (some great skills and heavily involved first half and that ball to Maatsen was amazing. Bypassed a bit second half but another moment of quality and another assist)
Allen 7 (better first half, cleaning up defensively and starting attacks. Faded a bit in second but still moments of quality)
Maatsen 8 (his pace caused problems. Great finish, good header for Gyokeres chance and then almost grabbed a second with well struck shot)
O'Hare 7 (some good link up play and did well creating his own chance but didn't make enough of some opportunities)
Gyokeres 8 (worked tirelessly again and causes defenders all sorts of problems. Nice movement and finish for winner)

Shipley 4 ( fluffed cross just having come on and then beaten easily twice by selling himself on the touchline, one of which resulted in a late chance)

Dabo na

Moore made excellent saves at key times of the game, superb timing when diving at the feet of their players. I would, therefore, make him MOTM. Our play was disjointed at times, and we gave the ball away too cheaply at times. We also looked dangerous on the break, and played some good football. The move when Maatsen’s shot was saved was sublime. Delighted with the win, but not getting carried away.

Kept going and deserved his goal.
Be great to go 3 or 4 up early on Saturday and give him a rest!

Was t criticising him as he’s been outstanding but it’s a part of his game he needs to work if we are to win more tight games in the future

Agree with all of this Martin - although I thought Allen was very good until he tired after running his socks off for the team.

The Allen/Hamer/Maatsen midfield looked like a very decent unit first half.

The pass from Hamer for the winner was technically brilliant.

i thought his pass for the first was far far better technically and in vision. Excellent.
Moore was superb throughout but Clarke Salter needs a rocket for their goal.

Kane & O’Hare 3 - Dreadful

Hamer 8 - Instrumental in both goals, but gave the ball away a lot

Moore 8

Maatsen 7

Rest 5 or 6

Robins 4 - Left changes too late as per and decides to bring on Shipley of all people.

The last minute winner does not detract from the fact it was a piss-poor second half performance.

I agree with all of this.
Technical wasn't the right word but to play that pass with the perfect weight in the 88th whilst running at full speed - just brilliant.
JCS was excellent prior to the goal - he simply switched off.

Hamer mom for sure. Played great all night. I agree that Bidwell had a reasonable game and hopefully that will settle him. Moore vital and Viktor kept going.
Not sure how we managed a win as we were pasted in 2nd half.
Best feeling at a game for a long time. Three enjoyable days in Bristol topped off by an exciting win.

Moore 9 - The decision making of whether to come or not was exceptional and the timing was perfect. So easy to give a pen on that last one - if the ball comes loose from his grasp the ref gives a pen there. Did so well to hold on tight.

Gus 8 - Ran the show on the ball and ran his legs off, off it. Work rate matched O’Hare and Allen but with an end product. I think that’s 4 assists in 2 games?

Most of the rest 7’s.

Bidwell and Kane 6’s.

About right. Allen looked better tonight.

Moore 8

Some vital saves and quick off his line to break up threats.

Kane 5

I don’t know if he’s fully fit but this was a bad day at the office. Some shocking passing and his crossing wasn’t great.

Hyam 8

Unlucky not to score. I think he’s one of the most improved players at the club this season. Did his job well tonight.

Fadz 7

Marshalled well. Got caught wrongside now and again. Ok.

JCS 7

He’s a championship standard defender and did his job.

Bidwell 5

Had a chance of scoring but it skimmed his bonce, hasn’t quite got in the same wavelength as the rest of the team and hence sloppy. His stats show he’s a championship level left back but as yet….
Can’t wait to say that Bidwell did well.

Hamer 8

Good corners, assists, break up play. Got overran for a period of the game but overall - great.

Allen 6

Not his best game but I’ve grown to like this ankle-nipping wasp version of Allen.

O’Hare 7

Great runs. Lively. Great off the ball moving and banged some shots. Ok, didn’t score but great intent and effort.

Maatsen 7

How old is this kid? 19? Calm finish of someone way older. Did well

Gyo 8

Needs a holiday. Kept going. Battled. Ran at defenders. Held the ball up. Scored. What more do you want?

Dabo 6 (but 7)

Gets a 6 because only a few mins, but would have been more in line for a 7 if you know what I mean has he played longer.

Shipley 6 (but 6)

Referee 3/10, no consistency at all and nearly cost us when Gyo was fouled just before a 1v1 which Moore smothered brilliantly. For us:

Moore 8 Back to his best tonight
Kane 6 Still looks unfit
Hyam 7
McF 7
JCS 7
Bidwell 7
Hamer 7
Allen 7
O’Hare 8 a constant threat
Maatsen 8 thrived in the AM slot
Gyo 8 Just never stopped working and for someone who has played every minute of this run of games to take that finish at the end was sublime.

Subs N/A

Hard to pick MoM but would go with Gyo

Laughable how different these ratings would be if we didn’t score a last minute winner, when in reality it shouldn’t change anything apart from maybe bumping a couple of players up by 1.

“7s all round”

It was rubbish for 90% of the second half. First half we weren’t great, a draw at HT would have been fair. Second half we were very lucky to win.

Humping the ball up to Viktor wasn't working it just kept coming back but he plugged away and got his reward at the end..Hamer started great great ball for Maatsen to score... disappeared but came good at the end for Gyokeres goal.. Moore my man of the match ...Kanes crossing was awful as was Shipleys cameo...Hyam really needs to cut out these forward passes straight to the opposition done it once tonight but he is like Sheaf was earlier in the season but Sheafs were bigger clangers.. I thought Allen was decent tonight although he ran out of gas ...I'll put Ohares chance down to being errrr unlucky but great to get 3 unexpected points tonight...on to Saturday

I thought Bidwell had a good game today.

Kane was the only one i felt underperformed.

I’ve not followed any of the match thread so don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but one of my favourite bits of the game was in the first half…da silva tried a few tricks, Hamer stepped in, won the ball, and then out tricked him with a couple of drag backs. completely unnecessary, He was just showing who the boss was.

Having said that…Massengo is some player. I thought he was Motm over all.

Of the subs Shipley looked like he didn't know what a football was but Dabo looked all of his aggressive direct intense self again.

I hope we finally have a fit Dabo on our hands after about 18 months of injuries.

I do get this but I think even without the winner it would’ve been a good battling away performance against a team who had won their last 4 league games at home (including turning Middlesbrough over last time out). To get a point still required a good team performance and they all put in a monster shift.

Dabo looked good after a layoff. Hamer looked re-energised.

You do wonder how much others would be able to give if we could give them a rest. Gyo is putting in a tremendous effort and if he wasn't playing so much I don't think any defence in the league would be able to handle him.
