Burge - 5 - Flapped at way too much, could have given a pen away, back to the old burge kicking. Extra point for a good tip over.
Grimmer 4 - Not sure why he bothered getting his kit dirty. Consistently lost his man and gave fouls away trying to cover and get back. Offered nothing going forward.
Willis - 4 - Missed that tap in, did nothing else, constantly out of position and losing his man.
McDonald - 4 - Their number 9 will hopefully let him out of his pocket in time for Christmas
Haynes - 4 - Absolutely dire, offered nothing going forward, overhit passes and crosses
Doyle - 6 - Feel sorry for him, he is trying to run the game on his own pretty much. Chasing everything down, covering everything and having no support.
Stevenson - 4 - Not sure whether its the role he is being asked to do or what, not in the game at all
Shipley - 3 - took a couple of poorly hit corners, can't remember much else
Nazon - 4 - Scrapes a 4 because he had a few shots, did nothing else.
Biamou - 5 - Won most headers and flick ons, held it up well but had absolutely nobody near him.
McNulty - 5 - Tried to create things but stuck out on the right for the first half, came close when managing to hit the post.

DKE - 4 - Not sure what was expected of him, not really a game to throw him in.
Vincenti - 4 - Pointless bringing him on at all on the right, why not gamble at 1-0 down and stick him more central?
Beavon - 3 - NA

Robins - 2 - Was out thought again today, very strange half time subs. No plan at all in place. It was 90 minutes of what we had in the first 20 against Boreham Wood.

Can only cross my fingers and hope Robins says the squad were struck down by a virus this week and were all under par.

I'd go with this.

Biamou could be so much more with players gambling off him and McNulty did well to nearly craft a goal on his own, we don't make enough chances for him.

Nazon looks more like an impact player than a starter. How many league goals does he have from games he's started in?

Burge - 4: conceded two, flapped at a lot

Grimmer - 3: So inconsistent. Obvious why he is playing down at this level.

Rod - 3: Bullied all game. Distribution very poor.

Willis - 3: albeit offside, that miss was as bad as the McNulty sitter at Chesterfield. He was poor today.

Haynes - 2: Poor.

Stevenson - 2: Absolute ghost in the midfield. Bullied all game like at Accrington. Can't defend, creates nothing and gave the ball away way too often.

Doyle - 5: Poor guy had to do it alone again. Definitely one of his worst games.

Shipley - 4: Must have been injured to off? Don't think he actually knows where he is meant to be playing.

Duck - 4: Again, surely injured, only real threat we had.

McNulty - 3: Another poor game away from home for MM. How many shots does he fire over the stand?
Biamou - 5: Put himself about, won a fair amount of headers. Never looks like scoring.

Subs:

DKE - 5: only player to go for it in the second half.

Vincenti - 1: An absolute shambles playing him out wide. I just don't understand it and don't think he does either.
Beavon - N/A: Let him go in January.

Robins - Please explain why Vincenti is out wide.

Duck NOT injured says Robins. Sounds more like he couldn't be arsed.

Maybe duck needed to be brought back to earth, he does appear to love himself which in some cases isn't a bad thing but not when you're supposed to be a team player

Having said that he's just about our biggest threat now and without him we certainly struggle to score goals now Jones is injured, Stevenson just isn't strong enough again I have no idea why Vincenti isn't playing a central midfield role for 1 thing if Vincenti was played centrally Stevenson would have less pressure on him and hopefully would help his passing game because his tackling game isn't up to scratch

I thought Burge, Biamou and DKE were the only ones that came out of the game with any credit today.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t remember Burge flapping at all today. He seemed pretty decisive, pulled off a great save early on and his kicking was decent too.

Biamou just needed runners, and no one was on hand. Pretty basic stuff.

Robins’ substitutions were baffling to say the least. At least DKE put himself about a bit.

I like Beavon and I quite like Biamou, but if they aren't scoring and aren't providing assists for other strikers scoring then I just don't see how we can play them.

Isn't Biamou 's record something like 1 goal in 21 games? That's the sort of record you would expect off a defender.

Yeah, his scoring record is terrible. I’m really picking at straws because I thought we were pretty terrible across the board. However if the duck had looked interested today and McNulty had showed some intelligence and realised that Biamou was beating his man in the air, we may be looking at a different scoreline. Or at least we might have threatened.

We didn’t, we were shit and deserved to lose.

Burge 5 flapped a lot
Haynes 4 offers nothing in attack or defence
Grimmer 4 awful
Willis 3 got schooled by their 9
Rod 5 a bit better than Willis and cleared one off the line
Doyle 5 not a way to mark a milestone
Stephenson 5 didn’t lose the ball but created nothing
Shipley 4 might need a rest
McNulty 6 tried to create something
Duck 3 played with the intelligence of an under 8
Biamou 6 won lots of headers
Subs
Dke 3 offered nothing
Vincenti 6 made us look better when he was on the pitch
Beavon n/a

We were second in every department to them today. I thought they played fairly well and we couldn’t get near their number 9 all game.

I'd love for you to explain how we were better with Vincenti on the pitch?

We are never going to be better with him stood on the wing. He isn't a winger and never will be so it's pointless. We need to try him more central.

He did nearly set Willis up with a nice header, but it was offside.

I will rate just one player today.

Lee Burge, gets a 7 our motm.

Says it all when hes motm.

Horrendous team display. Made Morecambe look like a Championship side playing against non league rekegation fodder.

Morecambe should have been 5 nil up before they scored their first goal.

Btw Doyle....horrendous display. Need to get rid, gave the ball away umpten times.

I cant even be bothered to go into detail.

Won his tackles. Won headers and found his team mates with the ball. Basically everything that Shipley didn’t do hence why we were better with him on the pitch. I’d challenge anyone there today to dispute that.

But it’s cumulative, right? He’s been woeful for a while now and although he seemed a bit better than I’ve seen him of late, he doesn’t look like he can change a game. Same with Beavon. Why bring on a striker who has barely scored in the past eleventy billion years when you’re chasing the game?

The thing is, I have no problem with Vincenti, my problem lies with Robins playing him out wide.

Whenever grimmer gets forward Vincenti drifts into the box and leaves Grimmer against two players and then unable to put the ball into the box.

The rare occasions Vincenti is in the box he looks threatening.

Vincenti seems to have a decent engine ...albeit on tick over but for some reason only known to himself Robins keeps playing him out wide, we are begging for experience in the centre and whilst Vincenti isn't a highly tuned athlete I am sure with his awkward style he could do a lot better than Stevenson in central midfield, Stevenson seems devoid of confidence, he is certainly being intimidated and it seems a step too far...don't forget he was part of our 'dynamic' midfield last season that was so woeful it was embarrassing at times

The decision to drop Davies, who doesn’t miss a header, against a team with a big striker was a bad decision.

I’d personally prefer him to Willis, as I’m not sure what he is currently offering, bar pace?

Yep, McDonald struggled with him all game. Davies isn't the best ball player or technical player but he will battle and win headers all game.

I do find it weird how with certain posters Doyle gets about 2 more than he should actually get. He was absolutely dire again on Saturday, ( as were most of them ) but for some reason it feels like he has to be scored around a 6 because you know, it's Doyle and he loves a tackle and he's a hard man in midfield.

He got more from me because although he was shite like the rest of them, he didn't hide away and tried to carry the rest of the midfield.

We're gonna find this more and more, Davies needs to be in the side to deal with the direct threat of sides.

Doyle was terrible, I can't remember him winning a tackle. Even Stevenson made more successful tackles than him.

I thought the same to be honest. Stevenson wasn't particularly great but was considerably better than Doyle, I can't think of a single good tackle Doyle made and his pass completion was probably around 10%. Don't get what he offered at all, but hey ho.
