Burge - 6 - Didnt really have much to do, kicking very woeful and made some strange runs where he had to end up heading it.
Grimmer - 6 - Thought he was poor today, going forward he got tackled most times and then struggled to get back but didnt hide like Haynes did.
Willis - 7 - While he isn't a flashy ball playing centre half he just gets in the way and gets it clear
McDonald - 7 - Not as bad as Grimmer or Haynes, but I wish he would stop the random long ball
Haynes - 5 - Not the best, didnt do much going forward or defending. Aimless throwins
Bayliss - 6 - Was in a new position for him, very advanced but again not really the best
Kelly - 6 - Awful passing and set pieces
Doyle 6 - As above, needless yellow card. If he is going to try and be a dirty player off the ball at least do a proper job
McNulty - 7 - Extra point for the assist, was out of position for most of the game but not really in the game at all
JCH - 5 - Didn't really offer us anything, didn't win a header all game, rolled around looking for free kicks but did have a good shot.
Ponticelli - 8 - 2 great first time finishes without really looking up, just instinct. Covered well for Grimmer in the later stages of the game too.

Reid - 6 - Pushed us up and cut off their full back from attacking, awful corners though well overhit up in the air
Biamou - 7 - Changed the game, took the ball off defenders, won every header and held it up well. Should have scored at the end.

JCH for all the plaudits he brings, is anonymous in far too many games. Biamou gets a lot of stick for not scoring but he bought the game to life today. He offers an outlet but no goals, JCH offers us neither apart from once in a while.

Biamou is one of the better footballers at the club. You’d have to be really thick not to recognise this.

Would you sign jch at the end of the season or should we be looking at another striker he hasn't won me over yet?

Lol guess there’ll be a queue of clubs demanding his services. How much will we get for him do you think? Also thought you were still boycotting? Back watching are you?

Considering JCH is built like the proverbial "brick shithouse" he doesn't win a fraction of the amount of headers that Biamou does, and goes to ground at the smell of the defenders deodorant. Biamou on the flipside has toughened up no end since coming into the team and takes a good kicking every game without the theatrics.
So it's Max for me anytime, the goals will come I'm certain, but his team contribution is worth so much more.

He clearly is more talented than the likes of Biamou - frankly it’s absurd to suggest otherwise. He is a far more natural athelete and has better movement and strength so defenders are involved and working even when he’s not playing well.

The other irony is that he would be able to play in league one.

The caveat I guess is that he seems to have a sulky attitude when things go against him. It’s unfortunate as we will whatever anyone says need a new number 9 next season whatever league were are in.

I think we’ve only lost one league game he has started in - and he will get another club easily enough. It’s wether robins can harness his attitude to be positive

Burge - 6 good save in first half before their goal. Did everything he was supposed to do.

Grimmer - 4.5 Very poor today, was effective in move for first goal but was pretty short of everything else going forward today. Panicked a few times when in an attacking position. Once let the ball roll out for a corner rather than hit in a cross himself from inside the penalty box. A sure sign that a player is petrified of being the one who fucks up.

Willis - 6. Saved us with his speed a couple of times in the first half. One terrible headed clearance in first half created the pressure that they eventually scored from

McDonald - 6. Ok game up against the Olympic Hammer Throwing champion I think.

Haynes - 5 - Failed to make the right run too many times in first 45. Farcical moment when he ran around the ball to whip in a cross and let it go out for a throw first. Caught out of position too much defensively esp in first half

Bayliss - 6 - Quiet but a couple of lovely touches. He is palpably too good for us.

Kelly - 5 actually improved after the first sub and Ponticelli moved to the right. That said he couldn’t have good much worse. Terrible effort on goal when through vs goalkeeper

Doyle - 5 “never gives the ball away” has to be an ironic chant.

McNulty - 7 - much quieter game than normal but.... Great ball for assist. Never stops running. Always looking to be an option when we are attacking.

JCH - 5 - Was unlucky with a great strike that the keeper push over the stand!!! Apart from that he was pretty anonymous and for the first time that I’ve seen him, lightweight.

Ponticelli - 8 - 2 great goals. Always willing to shoot which is a quality we will really need over the next 4 (or hopefully 7) games.

Reid - 6 improved out shape which helped defend Haynes after a torrid first half. When he eventually got into the game he hunted down the ball and supplied some good crosses (except for corners)

Biamou - 7 - The catalyst for 3 points today. Provided everything JCH didn’t today. Worst miss you’ll see all season at the death tho.

Davies - 6 decent enough when replacing Willis.

Overall we were pretty fortunate to beat a team we should have outclassed today. We cannot continue to sit back and concede possession to every team just because we’ve gone a goal up. I really don’t fancy out chances against anyone over two legs.

nope, don't agree. We were the better side today. Text book away win. gets us back into the play offs and now 3 of remaining 4 at home.

We were the better side. But we’re still lucky to win I think. Given their league position and relative lack of ability I could see why for much of the game Crawley played like it was a pre season friendly, no excuse for that seeming to be true of us too.

Burge 5 erratic
Grimmer 5 wasteful with the ball
Haynes 6 improved after half time
McDonald 7 steady
Willis 7 as above
Doyle 5 didn’t impose himself
Kelly 7 I thought he was good today
JCH 5looks a bit off where he was a few weeks ago and struggled to hold the ball up.
McNulty 5 think he didn’t track his man for the goal and missed 2 decent chances
Bayliss 5 looked lost in new position
Ponticelli 8 worked hard throughout and was the only one willing to shoot.
Subs
Reid 7 got better as game went on
Biamou 7 game changed when he came on.
Davies 6 not on for long

Nice to see Macdobald and Mcnukty play well.

Much better options than McDonald and McNumpty Paperwork I reckon, any day of the week.

Did your hear the MR interview after the game? I think we’ve found CC4L, the interviewer asked MR for his thought on Leon Kelly’s performance

I got slaughtered for saying we play better as a team with Biamou compared to JCH a few weeks ago but still stand by it. That miss at the end though was terrible lol.

We were off the back of 2 straight defeats so I would imagine confidence was lowish but we got the 3 points that's the only stat required for me

At the minute, no. I'm not sure if its fitness, ability or attitude but he hasn't done enough for me to earn a contract. I still have no idea what type of striker he is, and he just doesn't look a goal threat. There has to be better out there in the summer.

He's definitely been hot and cold. Been very decent in some games and in others he has either seemed shattered or not really up for it.
