Can't see much past McNumpty Paperwork at the moment can we?

Only other candidate would have to be Michael Doyle I would think.

Tom Davies has been great, but he's only managed 17 games for us. At the start of the season my money would have been on Rod McDonald, who looked like he oozed class and composure, but he's certainly not been the same player as he was earlier in the campaign.

Jack Grimmer has been pretty steady, but as it stands I would think it would have to be a one horse race pretty much wouldn't it, with Doyle second.

Young player is obviously going to be Bayliss. Cannot see that changing one iota. Second place would surely go to Jordan Shipley.

If McNumpty's goals suddenly dry up then I think it will be Michael Doyle who probably bags the POTS award. Willis, Stokes and Kelly and Burge have been far too inconsistent to be considered.

Possibly Gimmer, we looked very unbalanced without him in the side Otis!

It's not looking good though us it! I don't think Doyle has been brilliant by a long chalk, but he has been pretty consistent.

A player of the season really should be outstanding and besides McNumpty there's only been Jodi Jones and we obviously can't give the award to him and then Davies, but he's not really played enough.

I would say the steady players this season have been Willis (to a degree), Grimmer and Shipley.

Burge, Vincenti, Stokes, Kelly and Haynes have all been hit and miss.

Davies would definitely be a shout I believe if he hadn't have got injured. Still think though that he can get back in and fit and make a really good contribution.

How far away is he (Davies)? I also wish Stokes would pull his finger out, really show us the player we know he is!

P.s Doyle player of season by far!

McNulty is the obvious one but personally I think grimmer. Early on with Jones, it was a mean right side and needed a replication on the other side.

I agree about the early season rod McDonald claim, he looked like nothing would get passed him, not quite sure what happened . Think doyle will get it although mcnulty is the one for me so far.

If it's Burge I think I will throw the towel in and quit football altogether and go and watch curling or boules instead.

Wouldn’t have won yesterday but for him, in fact we have won a number of games thanks to him and not lost many because of him. How many shots per game do our forwards have ? Not many.

In terms of the way he influences a match not technically but with his presence and leadership I’d have to go with Doyler.

McNulty close second.

It’s got to go to McNulty, he was the only player who looked like scoring before we brought in JCH. I think Jones would’ve been nailed on for it had he not got injured.

Doyle is probably our most important player, his role in midfield and leadership skills are second to none, perhaps in the whole league. Our form has all of a sudden took an upwards turn since his return. POTY goes has got to go to a match winner - McNulty and Jones are that, creating goals from nothing. Doyle will get Player’s Player I think.

Best defence in the league with him making up the back 5.

McNulty for me, if it means Doyle doesn’t win

For me McDonald looked like a likely bet, but he’s looked vulnerable and error prone more recently.

In fairness to doyle, he has been one of the stand out performers and my pre season posts just go to prove why I’d never make it in football management!

I’d be only too happy to have to make the charitable donation I promised pre season if he was to win it

Had his arm in a sling yesterday so might be a few weeks away. Such a shame he got that injury when he did, was a rock at the back.

I agree with a choice of Doyle or McNulty but, while not saying he is the POTS, I disagree about Willis as I think he has been pretty consistent all season and would say he is the best of our 4 centre halfs, possibly followed by Davis.

Okay.

Just that Robins said that he's close to returning. That could still mean 2-3 weeks though.

I was surprised to see him wearing one still to be honest. Never had the injury but I assume he'd not need it at this stage. Unless he's had a set back.

Doyle as we know is not a good footballler and has very very limited ability. Was always going to be the piano pusher while Andreu was going to be the piano player.
One thing he is though is a great leader and rallies the troops when it’s needed.
Player of the season for me for his “overall” contribution.

Would have been grimmer until a few weeks ago, but not been the same player since he came back from injury... although looked better this week

Willis solid until recently too, rod McDonald same as grimmer ( wasnt same after injury ) but overall McNulty has always been there or Thereabouts all season, even when he wasnt scoring you could see he caused defences trouble. His touch , pace and movement are a class above this league & I think he’d walk straight into every team in this league

McNulty (goals win games), Doyle (fans want to see a player who reflect their passion for the team, and he is clearly a huge influence on those around him), with a big shout for Grimmer who runs all game long and drives the team forward down the right wing (all the more admirable as we don't have a right winger who helps him) so he is often doing two jobs at once - must be bloody hard work, especially on our pitch.
