Okay at the beginning of the season there were few whispers of the play-offs and people must have been crackers to of believed it, SP is remaining grounded and we are only 15 games into the league season, but we are playing so well, scoring so highly, tightening up at the back and the players confidence and form all over the pitch is Sky (Blue) high.
Is Play-Offs now a realistic target this season, baring in mind that had we of not been docked ten points we would be 5 points off against the top two spots in the league?
Hmmm difficult question there, based on our current form and being 3 points off the playoffs I would say No ..........

I am starting to believe, but do worry about the impact of 2 or 3 injuries. Yes we lost baker for a few games, then lost christie for 5-6 games but we haven't lost 2-3 players all at the same time. Look at the way tranmeres form dipped last season.

I don't understand why people keep mentioning what position we would of been if we hadn't been docked 10 points for two reason:
1/ It's irrelevant, we were docked 10 points and there is no way we are going to get them back.
2/ It’s hypothetical , who knows, but it's entirely possible the -10 points has galvanised the team and created a siege mentality.
I think it shows how good our form is and a motivational factor to do as well as we can..
I think play offs now are a realistic aim, most teams in league 1 bar peterboro and Wolves have small squads. Orient have done fantastically well but still see Wolves and Peterboro claiming top two spots. We should really now be making the play offs. Disagree with injuries we have lost Christie and Baker at same time and survived.....we have even had or back up right back injured and Phillips stepped up to the plate. Pressley deserves mass credit as youth players now come in and play well. Only concern to me is if we lost one forward to injury, not sure Mansett would step up to the plate. However all looking good at the mo! PUSB
Sure, I wasn't so sure about SP myself, but I certainly am now. The guys a genius and we all thought Mark Robins was good.

Yes SP has done well , there were people on here slating him before he even had a chance.
As for Robbins he did well also, I do not feel any bitterness towards him either for going given the shit state of CCFC. It only serves to make SP even a legend whatever happens as he has at least brought some pride into the on the field affairs of CCFC and saved us from if say Thorn was manager still being rock bottom as he was unqualified and crap, this proved by the next two appointments results.
So many defended AT , it was actually unbelievable how many.

Completely agree....utterly amazing!

On current form and with Pressley at the helm, then yes, we can storm this tin-pot league. But my feet are firmly on the ground where SP is concerned. I firmly believe that come January, there will be a few clubs sacking managers and looking around for a good replacement. I fear money and a bigger club would be too much of a temptation for him and if the right offer comes in, he will be off. We will be victims of our own success.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong because I've just had "Steven Pressley is God" tattooed on my forehead!
I didn't like AT as a manager but I'd thank him for choosing to sign John Fleck and firstly promoting Conor Thomas and Cyrus Christie and signing Joe Murphy..
The task Pressley was handed was far worse than thorn yet thorn was Teflon to many fans regarding criticsm.
Thorn was incapable of communication and lazy in terms of making any improvement in his obvious shortcomings. He should have been sacked early in his first season and if the sisu management were I'm charge now rather than then he would and we'd have survived.
and getting the ball rolling on signing DMC
What are you taking tonight?AT inherited a relegation battle team in the division above that released its three best players after he took over.
Then he was given 3 league matches (all draws)
Two of which were against what two out to be two of the best teams in the division.
So effectively he had one poor 90 minutes and was sacked.
SP to me seems a very good manager so far.
However he has had a similar task to AT's first season.
AT had an easier task to the start of his second season. However one bad result is too early to sack any manager.
But SISU thought the other two results were bad as well in hindsight they were not
No waggott got the ball rolling. Thorn did want him on loan in the championship. Face it if he was hounded out the club early that season we may have survived.
People know about thorn now - he will never be employed in football again.
But you are if you think that AT was a good Manager! He wanted him on loan in the championship and you see no correlation to the club then signing him just after AT was sacked.
Come on Grendel you are not that daft.
What are you taking tonight?
Coventry Bitter - very nice
You may think it was a crazy idea
However after the club just escaped relegation
Then Westwood, gunnerson and King goes
Juke our top scorer gets sold in the January whilst we were in the relegation spots.
I take it on the back of this you expected us to survive relegation. I didn't although we nearly did which was surprising
Then granted SISU backed him in the league one transfer market.
He drew with Sheff Utd (favourites at the time to win the league)
He drew away at Yeovil (got promoted)
I take it you wouldn't call these bad results in hindsight?
He drew at home to bury = poor result. Not the worst but poor.
He was sacked
If you're getting a Word Art tattoo should've gone for the wibbley rainbow one
(BTW your name is viewable in that image link FYI)
cracking job he done 3 points away from them playoffs.
On current form we can beat anyone. Draw away to Wolves and beat Orient. Just won 3 games on the trot after Wolves game. No team will want to play us. Down to injuries and what happens in January. If we end up staying in Northampton there is a good chance of having to sell. Feeling quite confident of at least the playoffs as things stand.
