Thinking now that I might have a serious dilemma on my hands - holiday booked from Friday 23rd May for a week in Tenerife.
Play off final on Sat 24th I think - I will need to buy an extra flight out on late Saturday night or Sunday morning and miss the first two days of my holiday but when do I book it?
How confident am I that we will make the final…..I’m currently a 6/10

Why on earth did you book a holiday for that week? We weren’t going to get automatics.

I’m on holibobs from 4th May to 19th, so will be able to see us beat Middlesbrough to get into playoffs on the last day and back in time for the final, unlike last time being in Turkey! Shame I’ll mis the semis tho

At least you’ll be back in time for Wembley!

I’d leave it until next week after the first leg. If we beat Sunderland by 2 or 3 goals, you can be safe in booking that flight.

Not great planning it has to be said.

There won’t be a third kid that’s for sure!

That being said, due to some circumstances out of control it looks like baby we will be born ahead of schedule. So fingers crossed if Cov makes it, so will I.

My brother lands in Manchester from a Vegas trip at 9.30 the morning of the final. Provided Sunderland Sunderland against us, he’ll need an open train ticket, the aviation and rail delay gods to be kind and a keg of redbull.

Quick update - having booked my extra flight to fly out to Tenerife on the Sunday morning after the play-off final (my partner will fly out on Friday with my empty seat next to her) I’ve just taken a iMessage from my first ex wife in California (we divorced over 20 years ago and I’ve seen off a second wife since ) asking if I can get her a play-off final ticket if we make it (I’ve not spoken to her for 15 years!!). She has been streaming the games so fair play to her for asking.
I think I would make it a hattrick of ex-wives if I went to the game with her whilst abandoning my current partner to holiday in Tenerife.
Although my first wife came to EVERY round of the FA Cup run in 1987 with me so I’m kind of tempted but………..hang on!!

I’ve made a huge mistake… I’m flying out for the home leg only…

It will be a cracking 2 leg leg but I 100% expect us to batter Sunderland at home…

SIDE NOTE: some northern lads/laddette’s have backed us in the semis which is JOKES!!!

I’ll be two months into a backpacking trip around Asia on the day of the final. Really considering cutting the trip a few weeks short and flying back early if we make it…

I'd already marked it off in the calendar after the Swansea game.
Still a lot of teams in the mix for the fifth and sixth spots, but got a sneaky feeling it will be us and Sunderland in the final

Should we make the final, i'll be on a plane between Rome and Catania during the 2nd half (and most of any potential extra-time)

I’m stranded in Tokyo for our wedding anniversary… flying home (I’m told) is no option.

any city fans over in Japan? Anyone know where Tatsu’s dad lives?!

I won’t be able to go to Wembley this year any way for health reasons. I’m not sure I would have gone this time, already been 4 times in 7 years. It’s not a particularly novel or exceptional experience any more, just an expensive one and a long day with the potential for extreme disappointment. I think I will just spend some of what it would have cost me to go to London and have a really good day at home watching on the big screen tv. Steak and Stilton batch at half time and kids sweets whilst game in play methinks.

I can understand health wise ,But who would want to miss a day out at Wembley, win or lose, its a brilliant time.

Wembley is brilliant when it’s an exception. Frankly, familiarity has bred contempt. Overall I didn’t enjoy the FA semifinal, VAR completely fucked it up for me. It was very expensive and the outcome will be unaffected by me attending or not. Torp putting the ball in the net was a fantastic feeling for a short while,

Part of the old experience of Wembley was being in a ground with far more fellow sky blues than usual. We had nearly 34,500 yesterday at CBS which will probably only be exceeded by 10% when we have dispatched Sunderland.

I have no choice anyway this time, but I have given the hypothetical some thought. I think not going would be the right choice for me. I have seen 3 Sky Blue Wembley victories, 2 SB losses and 1 Scotland loss. Quit while I’m ahead I think. I will be more ready for any next time.
