I think Platt has been outstanding this season. Well done to him today for a long awaited goal.

Been a blessing to have his experience and his commitment.

Yes we know he isn't the greatest footballer but at least he gives a shit about our club.

Good, honest pro. Expresses himself well and if we did go down, his lower league experience would be vital as one of the senior players at the club.

I don't understand some of the stick he gets to be honest. He may not score many but that's because he's busy bringing other players into play.

'No, he was very, very average today and I wouldn't believe there is anyone out there who would make him MOTM.'

Alan Numptynuts: CWR, 5.02 p.m, Saturday 25th February 2012.

That guy doesn't half talk some bollocks.

That bloke has a serious problem and should seek psychological help ASAP! CWR really need to think twice about having him on every week, particularly as the first caller after a win, as it's the same old bollocks without fail. He just likes being blatantly contrary. My mate is Platt's biggest critic but even he had him as clear Man of The Match today.

Platt was awesome today, battered and bruised their defence they looked shattered at the end...easily MOTM.

Never realised how negative Barnsley could be, they were horrible to watch....WE ARE STILL IN THERE WITH A SHOUT. PUSB:claping hands:

"Target man"???
Wins the ball in the air...Holds the ball up well...Decent first touch.. Strong in posession.
Platt does "what it says on the tin" we cant ask for any more from a player of his pedigree, and his three points today could be priceless, thank God we've got him!!
Greetings .........Tankie

You definitely know there's going to be one player to put a shift in when you see his name on the team sheet. Remember it was him who lead the line at the start of last season as an unknown before MK arrived at the club! And we didn't do too badly with him leading the line then!

He's got to be the second best thing AB did for this club (Keough has got to be the first IMO)

Concur with all the above ,the only way they stop him is by wrapping him up ,his shirt must have three feet away from his midriff in their box second half ,ref ,did'nt see a thing like most things to covs advantage ,anyway rant over ,he chests it off and lays it off so well too.

No problem with that. Was it not Paul McGrath at Vile many years ago that did not train at all between games? He did OK for them. Every player has to be treated differently.

Excellent summation Tankie.

Our Clive is just one awesome player at the moment, despite at least three players hanging from his neck most times he delivers quality knock ons, layoffs and guided headers - at 34 he puts a serious shift in every game and I cannot understand some of the derogatory comments posted on SBT against this role model of a player.

A future big time manager I think in the near future.

Glad I read this thread, just read another thread the CWR in which a couple of people seem to agree with the gimp who did not rate platt. His comments confirmed what I thought about him. However I was a little concerned to see a couple of peopl on here agreeing with his views. Platt has been awesome he makes the most of what he has got. He very rarely loses a challenge for the ball. It would be interesting if we could afford the luxury of both Nimely and McDonald feeding off he flick ons but unfortunately in the current climate it is probably too risky

He's an honest, hard-working player...surely he's the only competition to Keogh for player of the season?

i've always stuck up for platt he imo is a good player for the whole team not a 20 goals a season kind of striker but a big guy who wins everything in the air and has great flick ons. PUSB

All you can ask is to put the work in and Platt gives 100% for the team whenever he is on the pitch. Would like to see him made part of the coaching team here when he hangs up his boots.

Totally agree. He is the best target man I have ever seen at the ricoh. I think he would make a great addition to the staff.

The CWR bloke Ian did not rate him (said he was average i believe and not MOM), which people were slating him for and did you yourself not post that the CWR bloke is right in what he said.

All I said is that some people are agreeing with him. Which I am pretty sure you did.

This may be up there with my West Ham 10 points comment

Not clever. He pays the money and he gives his view. Also he is right. Don't tell me if we ended that game goaless that their wouldn't have been hell to pay. The posts on here would have been less than complimentary.

It tells you a lot about football, if he didn't score he would not be man of the match
