So anyone got any idea what our owners short term and long terms plans for the club are?

Personally I think the idea is to get the club costing nothing at all costs.
Whilst trying to stay in division 3/4.
Maximise the value of any assists such as Ryton and any young players from the academy.
Hope that someone genuinely wants to buy the golden share. Try to convince them that we can sit there forever until they pay a price for it.
I hope the idea is the above because if it that we are sitting and waiting for Wasps to go bust, then with them just going top of the league the other day. I can't see that happening.

Sadly I think that's the case. It was a poor investment and they need to manage the damage it does to their portfolio, they can't just walk away and say 'oops, sorry we lost your money' to their investors. Unless a sugar daddy is willing to overpay for the golden share then we're stuck with them.

Think of it like leaving your money in a bank account with a shitty interest rate, it's not making much money, but it's not doing their investors any harm.

I am not sure that they afford to drop out of the league as it will damage the academy, but they are not here for the football so success is not in their plan

Yes, I think They are much nearer to exiting the club than many think, most likely by selling. The business model as described by Fisher would not work for any business, not being bothered what the revenues/attendances are, just cut the budget to suit. No one with any basic business accumen would even think like that let alone say it. And yet they spend money they don't need to on a manager who will expect to deal in the window, when they could have left MV in place or given it to someone else already at the club until the end of the season (Oggy?) IMO I don't think TF cares what he says any more because he knows something we don't. It could be that a sale of the club has been agreed in principal provided we stay in L1, (as in Malaka's posts) and next season's revenue won't be his problem.

Wear your Cov shirt, mate, that way you'll be anti-partizan and avoid a kicking by either set of rabid supporters.

Fair play to you for going. Can't see much hope of any thing other than a defeat and after Monday can't face the prospect of two abject games in a week so am taking today off. Hope I'm wrong though and you get to see us end this losing run!

I would love to go to a Celtic Rangers match. How did you get a ticket. Must be difficult to get hold of I would imagine.

Ah, but are they likely to recognise a Cov shirt? Just say it's an obscure 4th division Gaelic Football shirt, Coventrypotatoes Bejaysus FC.

It's ridiculous. Who ever heard of the owner of a football club not at all being interested in the football club.

We are just a set of financial figures on a spreadsheet to them.

Very easy. My daughter in law is from here. And there is going to be a lot of trouble today. So many regulars won't be going.

Over and out from me. Catch you all on the match thread later if still capable

I don't think they'll go anywhere until Ryton is sold off. It's the last remaining tangible asset and with the ARVO charges over it there's little reason to doubt where the money is going. The only thing left to sort out then is the replacement pitch provision. Does the club even need to sort this out? Is this a responsibility that will fall on the developer who purchases Ryton?

Eh?

Hate what's happening to our club. Are we just going to lie down and walk away?

Reading between the lines, Fisher was saying fuck all in his radio interviews except this. We will make £1m profit this year and that is going to happen every year going forward. Therefore potential investors can use this figure to value the club based on the cash flows method.

He was telling talksport at lunchtime that the club was for sale (for the right price), then at dinner time was telling bbc c&w on what basis investors can use to value the club.

You just have to ignore the bollocks in between... not surprising really that he plays the only card he knows how... antagonistic prick.

That is the problem with everyone involved, and we saw it from day one... no transparency and too much bollocks.

Thanks for posting on the thread as well. Glad it motivated you do so.
Any ideas on what you think our owners long term and short term plan is for the future of our club?
I would ask in the match thread but like your post it would probably be in the wrong place

Unfortunately I think that you are spot on dongo, whilst the rest of the football world is looking to grow their club, our owners, through no fault of their own, because of being victimised by other third parties have been left with no other option than to try shrug their shoulders and spout off about break-even, whilst we spiral towards non-league.

I didn't hear him state that we will make £1m every year. Any canny investor would immediately discount this as it is based off player sales, which isn't necessarily sustainable.

True, but it gives an idea (I think) of what SISU want for the club irrespective of whether that's achievable or sustainable...

Back in 1973 ( I think ) I visited a cousin in Glasgow and he asked me if would like to go to Hampden Park to watch Scotland v England.
Scotland won 2.0 , two og by England.

But what stuck in my mind was what he said to me, because we are going into the home end ( behind the goal )
What ever you do don't speak, because if they see that you are English they will jump on you, and he won't be able to help me .

But my God what an experience that was, pissed up Scottish fans just pissing were they stood !
And I couldn't say anything, but I lived to tell the tale.

Any one who is old enough to remember what it was like back in the 1970s and to be a football fan
will know what it was like !

Which is why we don't have any England v Scotland games any more. :wacky:

I think it was 77-78 when they bought about 100.000 down to Wembley, they
Completely took over the place, think that was the last game between them.
They've just started them again though.

What, a thread that got several positive likes compared to one that got more comments on an Old Firm Derby? Ok

The rules I have been told is don't mention politics and don't mention religion.

Was in with the Celtic fans today. Wouldn't dare mention that I am not a believer

One more thing. Those that say about family zones should try an old firm derby. Our worse is their best. Learned some new words today :wideyed:

You are right they were on there, loads of them to be fair on the posts where people pointed out how stupid you were looking.
If that's how you assess your threads FairPlay it's all going great!!
