Getting in to Cov for about 3 tomorrow, wheres best to go for a few beers pre and post match ? Normally just go to the Casino but fancy journeying further afield,

is is it the Wheatsheaf people talk about ? What about places open late (other than the Casino) after the game ? Do most fans hang around for a few jars after the game or just head home ?

also the new club shop, how far away is it from the Ricoh ?

thanks folks

Wheatsheaf is an absolute shithole but a laugh to go to before the game. There's not a huge amount around the ground and I assume most of the local pubs close at 11. I don't usually stick around after but I guess the casino will be pretty busy most of the night.

The club shop is 5 minutes walk from the Ricoh in the same building as Tesco.

The last game (which admittedly was warm and daytime) I had a couple of drinks in the outside area of the Mexican restaraunt in Arena Park.

Some Wigan fans were there and the place actually gave them some free Nachos and garlic bread as they were spending so much on drink.

Both it and F and B area was full of Wigan fans - there was only me and a couple of others supporting us. It was pretty ok

Yes, I forgot about the Mexican place and the one next to it. You should be able to get a few in there.

I can't wait for the station to open and then I will buy some cans of white cider and sit on the platform like any normal drunk

Bull and Anchor's a bog standard pub pretty close but is alright. Greyhound's a great place but gets busy.

Beyond that, close by... errrm...

If you go to Chiquitos (AKA The Mexican place) make sure you get some chilli poppers. Seriously good.
