i remember the underground toilets where browns was were a bit dodgy. "someone" once told me.

Yeah, spoke to them through the wall of a toilet cubicle!

That's a temporary pub to replace one bombed during the war. There was another in Jordan Well called the Mattock & Spade, bulldozed to make room for the Herbert. I've yet to find a good picture of it.

What's the religious building behind, the dress of the bloke though doesn't support the era unless Cov got bombed in the FWW?

Yeah, we'd either walk there or to the Seagull in Bell Green - depending where we were drinking at the time.
Used to love the Bell. Another lost pub.

Blimey! Can't believe my old thread from August 2016 has been revived! Nearly 8 years old! Nice to see it still has interest!
I was a mere youngster of 63 when I set this one up!

Christchurch. All but the spire was later demolished to make room for New Union Street.
