Had to share a few pictures that my local photography group have taken recently. This is the sort of thing people see all the time around here, however, not me! I live in the biggest town on the island, but just wait for summer! I intend to go out and capture some great shots!

Had to share this. It's last years "Wildlife Photographer of the Year". Mario Cea. Stunning photo. Took my breath away!

Extract from their facebook page........

Your winner is Mario Cea's image "The Blue Trail", which depicts the arrow-like dive of a kingfisher.
'This picture took about five months, 5,000 attempts and a huge amount of preparation to achieve,' says Mario.
We asked Mario how he captured this rare and striking shot, and for specific details about the shoot. Get this exclusive insight via the
Natural History Museum, London website: http://bit.ly/PeoplesChoiceWinnerInterview

How do you get the blurred photos? I wanted to try the same thing but with running water. Think it would look cool to have blurred water with a very sharp contrast of rocks

You need a tripod to keep it still and you need a long exposure. This was 15 second exposure.

What camera do you use Rich? I wouldn't mind spending a little and getting an entry level device.

Lovely pic's Rich, some of the night time sea shots have an almost metallic quality, the beach shot with the rock in the middle is stunning, I would pay money for it.

It has great reviews, can be picked up for next to nothing on ebay too. I may take the plunge.

Thanks DL. I was really happy with some. The one with the rock I have as my phone wallpaper.
You can buy it if you like. All my pics are for sale either by print direct or by licence on Eyeem. Also recently started a facebook page to put my images on and try to build some interest around what i capture. Photorichy it's called.

People always make the best subjects in my opinion.
And what better than my own two daughters. I've taken more photographs of them than anything else.
Here taking a 'selfie' at the mall in Tempe, Arizona. They were unaware I was taking them taking themselves.

My daughters (3 years older now) at a restaurant in Salome, Arizona.
The photos behind the bar are historical photos of the restaurant when it was a Greyhound bus stop.

Is that beer through a straw or Apple juice? She will be smashed drinking beer through a straw!

Think we might bust the camera out when it gets a bit warmer, only really take pictures of pets or my daughter so none I'd post up.

It's apple juice. Neither of them have ever had a drop of alcohol. Not a single tattoo between them either. Their vices are clothes and jewelry.

Love those sort of photos Rich. They're really interesting. Love to look at reflections in water too, similar to what I posted but with real equipment so it pics up everything and has a clarity to it.

I think I like the first one best as there's no cars heading off the slip road and you can see the reflection from the light above the Starbucks sign. I was only there for about 2 minutes as the weather was just pants last night.

There's some great photos here, they've inspired me to buy a decent camera of my own and have a go. Some of the sunsets over the sea down here are spectacular. Any advice on a budget camera for a beginner would be much appreciated.

If your a novice a good bridge camera is what you want. Mines 10 years old but it's perfect for the novice like me. Reasonably priced too due to the age. Where do you live out off interest?
