Rather than trying to wave his wad around "loads of money" style all he has to do is get fisher Sharp Hoffman etc to confirm the meetings. If they were taking it seriously then that is proof. But it seems to me every time a name comes up there is a meeting Tuesday.

He was quite specific about contact with Hornby. What he described was much more than forwarding an email. There was proof of funds, confirmation of price , an increased bid involvement of wealth managers , review of the financial records , involvement of legal people, planning of debt structures etc. All without contact with sisu. The last financials relate to May 2016 but he has an agreed debt structure sorted? You won't get access to the current books without an NDA which would mean no radio interviews..

Every time he produces proof he produces more holes in the proposal.

Do I want someone in charge of our club that acts in this way?

Do I want someone who would joint venture with Sisu 50:50 . No I want Sisu gone. Do I think 50:50 is a clever split in any case - no its a basis for stalemate. He doesn't trust or like Sisu he says.

Frankly I don't see anything that convinces me it is a serious proposal. Just seems a wind up to me and if so then I don't find it remotely funny or amusing.

Why do Wa**ers like this take over ruin your weekend. These types see we are flipping desperate and I guess so fans like this see the desperation and take advantage.

When the take over happens, it will just be announced. There will be no foreplay.

As one poster said earlier it's the hope that kills you.

I can't see this as anything more than a shitty publicity stunt by someone who wants everyone to know he's lucked out.

this guy has come from left field, he doesn't say he is a businessman, he has stated clearly he has come in to money.
He hasn't even met with the owners so he wouldn't be subject to a NDA.
I wouldn't be so inclined to prejudge the guy. If he is a joker we are no worse off than now and if he is a route to a brighter future then hallelujah brother!

He will need more than £12,000,000 for a kick off.

By what are you measuring that statement? Current owners= disaster Dale= unknown.
I am presuming this guy is not a criminal, just a guy who has come into some money and is looking at an emotional purchase.
We will find out soon enough if he is fool or a serious bidder.

Anybody who has the mindset to be a professional gambler should not be running a football club.
You have to have a certain risk/reward mentality and not conducive to running a business.

I tend to agree with that statement based upon that is exactly what are current owners are.
What I am hopeful about is that in conjunction with the other interested parties, who are businessmen, we can get over the line and move on from the wreck of CCFC.

Oh well, PR for him, bit of attention for Eakin which he probably wanks over, but this smells like dirty cow pats.

If this poker-playing chap is using our circumstances to bump his status, with no genuine intention to buy the club, then he can fuck right off. I'll flick poker chips at him till he cries...

This is easily sorted. Someone just ask Mark Hornby if he remembers forwarding this email on. If he does, great, he can confirm what it was about. If not, it obviously must have been something much less important than a takeover, otherwise he WOULD remember it!

Hornby has replied on Dale's Facebook page saying he has simply forwarded on an email from Dale saying he wanted to buy the club, and that is all.

There was a delay in forwarding the email because they had to clarify a typo too. Michael Byng would be so proud

Just listened back to the show and Dale Evans definitely says about 'initial talks with Mark Hornby going very well.'

Sending an email in is not talks.

A Coventry City fan, who is new to wealth, announces he wants to buy the club and he is subjected to vitriol from his own people! You couldn't make it up, no wait and see, no I hope he is genuine.
What the fuck is in it for him at this stage? PR? bump his status? This guys status is his bank account and rather than giving him support or the benefit of the doubt he is ridiculed.
It may turn out he is a chancer like others have been but at least let him have a chance to be proven to be a fraud.
I hold no view on this guy except I do hope is can offer us a future.
Isn't that what we all should want?

Do you think it's serious then? Judging by what's been said so far, how most of the things he has said have been disproved?

I remember a well known lady councillor saying the same if we were to beat Macclesfield by 7 goals back in 1999. We did and she did.

I think you'll be safe this time though

He has proved nothing. I don't want to come down on anyone hard at all, but talk like hate the haters and Hornby saying he doesn't even know the bloke and this Evans saying he would go 50/50 with Sisu etc. obviously would have any sensible person doubting.

Yeah, he's lying. I also believe he's got less money than you and Grendel combined (I appreciate this may not be an equal split of course).

Maybe he is just a pretty normal bloke that’s got lucky hence his unprofessional approach. If not then he could be another dhindsa. Either way don’t care until he’s paid for the club in cash

The vitriol is a natural reaction from a fanbase who have heard it all before, several times, towards a guy that has gone public with an over exaggerated claim to be making good progress in a takeover of the club. It's either idiotic, or deliberately disingenuous and either way gives an awful first impression.

I am like all of us, I just don't know and as cynical as I am about characters like this I also note that he is a Coventry City fan, wealthy and wants to spend his money on an emotional purchase.
That for me buys him time to explore.
If nothing comes of it what have we lost? What has he gained? He will be pilloried forever like the others and i can't see him risking his credibility unless he believes this is possible.

Don't challenge a word of what you have said except that he hasn't met with anybody within Sisu as yet.
He may turn out to join the litany of chancers but he also may turn out to be Brian!

Yeah, exactly. His credibility has surely gone down following that poor effort of an interview. The first person he speaks about having promising talks says he has never met the bloke.
