Egan is currently at Burnley, training with a view to a permanent deal apparently…

He just doesn't fit our profile at all , 32 in a few weeks and will demand a wage.

There to help develop our centre backs to be fair. Plus his experience would be a massive help not just on the pitch. Would like to see this one tbh

Not the name I was told. However, it's the final week, things can change in a matter of hours, some deals don't materialise till last minute. That would be some signing. Not going to add any fuel to the fire, as I simply haven't heard his name mentioned.

Curiously if you happy to say, has that name been mentioned at all online? Happy if no comment just curious to if anyone is close these days.

Doesn’t matter much tho if he’s only come on in the last twenty to help clean stuff up and see out games. Not to mention the experience he’d give the centre backs by just being around them. Happy if not but on a free could be a decent option to replace the faz role

Not sure if that would be a good use of the wage bill?
Feel like we've moved past the Fadz effect

In the last 24 hours we have had:

- Oasis reforming after 15 years
- CBS Arena confirmed in the new FC25 (FIFA) game
- Cristiano Ronaldo actually scoring a free-kick

Yet, somehow I find us signing Billing even more unlikely than all the above.

Maybe but think the centre backs could do with the help to push them on. All four seem to struggle at times with concentration and silly decisions. But each to his own

I'd be more than happy. A step up from both Eccles and Allen imo, no disrespect to either of them of course. If we want to play in the premier league, we need better.

Oasis shouldn't bother well past it like Ronaldo plus Noel Gallagher is a twat .

Cannot fathom what they've done with Hamer.

We don’t need a holding midfielder when we have Sheaf, we need a someone who can operate between being a box-to-box midfielder as well as a deep-lying midfielder.

Watching Torp today, he immediately looked more lively alongside Sheaf and I assume the same would be true for Eccles. Which is a worry because at some point, they will need to operate without Sheaf.

I’m sorry but this is absolute bollox. The bloke waited nearly 25 minutes to drop possibly the biggest news of the transfer window? His mates have heard that he’s talking live and fed him some fake info to make him look like a twat.

It's almost criminal. How does a manager not see the player in front of him?
Sheff Utd wasted his impact last season

Honestly, I don't come on here too often, same with Twitter. So unless I went back through every page, then the answer is no. I take what I hear and usually just wait to see if they materialise, I don't look online at any rumours.

Possibly the reason why a Wolves or Everton type club haven't come in for him? He wasn't able to showcase himself at all.

I want this badly to be true but I just can't make it work in my head any way I slice it. Wages, fee, competition from bigger clubs. It's just not happening.

Hopefully whoever we get doesn't feel a disappointment.

He was being linked with Newcastle in Jan lmao

Would instantly solve our midfield - 6'6 and scores goals. But yeah, not happening.

Billing would be a monster of a player at this level, scores a lot of goals for his position as well, I doubt this a lot, he's got enough quality to stay into he prem.

Where has this actually gained traction from?

Would be an insane signing and I would go as far as saying he could be the best player in the division, so I do have my doubts

it was said by John Kelly on the cov podcast after the game. “Almost over the line” was his quote from his source. In regards to Billing.
