Absolutely brilliant and I've just text Mr Eakins to tell him.

That call could be counted as one of the ridiculous "reasons to be cheerful" he tries to push every week. Bring back Rob Gurney.

He cuts people off when they have a different (and more realistic opinion) but Phil told him straight. Journalists are supposed to give a balanced view but with Clive Eaken the balance is all weighed on his side of the scales. Fair play to Phil for saying his piece.:claping hands:

Brilliant caller, Eakin plays Devils advocate but he never asks the difficult question because he has no bottle.

Bobby Gould tweet into the show at the death
To score goals you have get the ball into the box
Says everything to me
Everything else Is buzzwords and over complication
Does that mean I'm a Dinosaur

It means a former manager of Coventry City is critical of the current manager. And there is nothing wrong with being a dinosaur.

The most laughable was when Eakin compared us to Barcelona. "We created a good chance after 20 or so passes......if Barcelona score after 20 passes it's hailed as brilliance..."

I'm sure the majority of Barcelona passes/build up play is positive.

CCFC's "creation" is keeping the ball in their own half, and the one time they go forward, lose the ball generally. We rarely create a real goalscoring opportunity.....

Haven't got a link, but it was around the last ten minutes of the programme. Clive conveniently ended the conversation at 5 to 7 with the excuse that he had to get one more caller in .

it is not the number of passes but how they are linked together, the tempo they create and how they work the opposition, that is what matters!

The gist was that Clive Eaken has been held to task over his incessant protection of SP and was sent off with a flea in his ear.

Cheers for the link.
Being his usual self, won't allow himself to be interupted but quite happy to interupt everyone else.
Because he gets access to the club he thinks only his point is valid.

Yes just listened ...very good caller , eakin and poole are 2 of the only people associated with ccfc that still back pressley indirectly most of the time but still do ...linnell has been changing his tune lately , sadly for us , people with influence such as the telegraph , eakin etc still fail to put pressure on the club through the radio or the paper ...its sickening

Well said, totally agree with you. Where the hell do we as fans stand in all of this nonsense. We don't seem to have any allies at all. We Have no voice but are still expected to turn up week after week to clap and applaud when there's nothing much left to appreciate and when we question the regime we get the likes of Clive effin Eakins shouting us down. He deserves much more of what he was given today. He is totally out of order with his bias, pro Pressley opinions. We are where we are because our management couldn't make us any better.

Fair to Phil. He is right. great caller for once.

Clive eakin is the most boring out of touch journalist covering the city. He has been doing far too long for someone so poor.

P.s this post is not dogs abuse it's just the majority of opinion.

"Both barrels"

I couldn't agree more. Just the one barrel wouldn't be enough for him.

Haha

Not having a go but do you really think Rob Gurney would be any different ? Say if Eakin lambasted SP on air......how long do you reckon he would keep his job ? !!

In my opinion all these weird and wonderful formations only really work if you one of the top teams filled with some of the best players in the world. For everyone else it's just an over complication. Stick to 442, 443 etc. Get down the wings and get the ball in the box. It worked for decades no reason it won't work now.

I don't care if Eakin lambasts Pressley or not, but as has already been voiced on here, he has a problem with those who wish to offer an opinion he doesn't agree with . Last night Phil wouldn't let it go and Eakin was made to look a complete idiot .

I don't think pressley could even find a win with a 4-4-3

I think that's the issue. I don't know why he seems worried about negative opinion. Its almost as if CWR will get a reputation of anti-SISU if they allow too much slating (which is surprising as they are always reading out negative texts etc).

What was laughable was he spent god knows how long ignoring the caller and searching desperately through Poole's article looking for the offensive remark, almost as if he wanted to vindicate the report?

Clive just needs to phrase his questions to Presley right, he can dig deep without it looking bad on him or WCR.

what is the point of interviewing people from the club if you are not asking the questions the audience wants to know the answers to?
