Preston have parted company with manager Phil Brown after less than a year in charge at Deepdale.

The former Hull boss, 52, was appointed in January but was unable to save them from relegation from the Championship.

They currently lie 10th in the League One table, only five points short of the play-off places.

Assistant boss Brian Horton has also left the club, and Graham Alexander and David Unsworth have been put in temporary charge.

Brown's departure came just eight days after Peter Ridsdale, formerly with Leeds, Barnsley, Cardiff and Plymouth, joined Preston as chairman.

Imagine a bench with Phil Brown sat next to Ken. The human retina couldn't cope with that much orange.

Would he work for a pint and a packet of crisps???

If not - he's too expensive for us.

Nope, he wants TWO pints of lager and a packet of crisps, please. I believe he wrote quite an aggressive song about it... Under a guise and with his band Splodgenessabounds

Seriously, why does everyone scream no at the mere mention of an experienced manager? He would bring more to the party than thorn.

if we're really at the point of a takeover the last thing we want is for them to commit another act of vandalism with a manager on a 3-4 yeardeal ,as they've done with the widely percieved inadequate players .
