The List is here:

http://www.thepfa.com/transferlist/listedplayers/sortbydate/-1/outofcontract/-1/-1/-1/1/

I can see why after looking at this Stephen Pressley is taking his time, there isn't really a player out there which fits in the whole mold of what we are looking for (experience, age, wage bracket, ability) or certainly from what I can see. A few players who are still on there to my surprise are:

Titus Bramble
Chirstopher Baird
Pablo Ibanez
Stephen Hunt
Sylvain Ebanks-Blake

All of which I doubt would fancy joining us, however should one in particular change his mind please let it be Ebanks-Blake.

Are you joking? Why bring in another striker? We need defenders, I'd have Titus Bramble anyday.

Doubt we'd get any tbh, but yep I'm with eastern, we need centre backs not strikers

The best form of defence is attack..

So we get rid of Marlon King who beats on women to bring in Titus Bramble who's history is just as dodgy, Anne Lucas will be thrilled..

I don't care if they punch people off the pitch, A good player is a good player, Marlon king scored goals and Titus bramble would do a job in L1, What he does off the field is his own choice. i care what he does at 3 o clock on a Saturday afternoon.

Chris Baird going to QPR. If there's a decent centre back on their we could have I'd go for them, don't think we desperately need anyone else.

Definitely and so would Titus Bramble as EasternGreenSkyBlue pointed out, but as I heard it QPR wanted Chris Baird and Titus Bramble did have a trial at Ipsich earlier this summer and it's doubtful that he would make the drop to L1.

But I understand where your coming from EasternGreenSkyBlue, however I think all being said it's really doubtful he would join us.

We don't have to Pressley could adopt a new formation;

Murphy
Christie-Webster-Adams
Baker-Thomas-Fleck-Moussa
Wilson-Clarke-Blake

Good shout. He's a decent player, probably out of our wage range mind.

Simon Davies could be worth a look - I hear he turned out for his local village side as a sub a couple of weeks ago, just for the fun of it.

Other names which stood out to me
Davide Somma
Matthew Bates
Shelton Martis
Keith Fahey
Stephen Mcphail

Could all be crap but they have championship experience

Lubo Micalik was pretty solid about two seasons ago. Late 20's now, 6ft plus monster at the back although quite slow from what I remember

Shelton Martis would do a job. Is Kisnorbo still available? His experience would help surely.

Whilst we are discussing off field antics...... Whatever happened to Davenport after that attack?? Did he even get back to playing professionally again?

Nah, I don't think we want Moussa and Baker having that much defensive responsibility, they're attacking players. Not even that suited to out wide at all, which is partly why Cyrus and Adams flourish in our set-up on the over-lap.

Hmmm, narrowing down the list to centre backs alone (http://www.thepfa.com/transferlist/listedplayers/sortbydate/cb/outofcontract/-1/-1/-1/1/) throws up mostly inexperienced youngsters (including two wearing Coventry City shirts) and the odd journey man (Michael Duberry hoping to have a 20th season of league football), aside from the aforementioned Baird and Bramble.

Most of those youngsters have little first team experience. One that did catch my eye was Johan Hammer, a former Everton U21 and Sweden U19. It's probably just the name though. A centre back named Hammer. Nice.

Cristopher Hogg on the list, Scottish CB turned down a contract at ICT maybe Pressley could coax him down here?
Patrick Kisnorbo also on the list after leaving Leeds and Michalik as said before are the 3 with some form of pedigree that we may actaully stand a chance in getting.
Of those 3 I would say that Hogg would have to be my first choice.

Think we might find the elusive CB will be Aaron Martin back from Southampton as he has next to no chance of playing first team football for The Saints.
Let's not forget that it was Pressley who got him on loan at the back end of last season.
