good stuff. never thoguht he was amazing but he was a prem player and we are in league 1. as TM says only 32 so not old old old either

clear he sees ricketts as a RB before a CB too from these comments.

so rickets, ramage, martin, stokes as main back 4 going into the final 5 months?

Don't forget Lorentzson too, unless I just dreamt him over Christmas. I do dream of blonde Swedes a lot.

Was just going to say this...the bit about Lorentzson, not the blonde Swedes!

Anyone know when he's available? I think he's available not but injured (if that makes sense)?

Joining Coventry City as a defender is like accepting to become a Spinal Tap drummer

Hopefully this guy can sustain from picking up a season ending injury for more than 2 months.
Hopefully we can get him up to speed in time for walsall, dont think we can get away with playing with a makeshift back 4 against possibly the best side in the league

Exactly Hobo.
It's been very quiet on Martin and Lorentzen, has any info been given on Martins Injury and when both are likely to be available.
Don't think I've seen any mention in the media.

That person might not be very fast, might not be good in the air or a good passer. It doesn’t matter.

This has to be the least ringing endorsement I've ever heard on a new player. But trust in TM.

you have heard what you want to hear and have missed the point of TMs message completely.

He has said the important thing is not always about individual attributes around pace, heading passing etc.,(that is all you focused on HIGGS). TM said the key is how a defender organises himself and the players around him and in front of him. It is how he communicates his football knowledge and experience to the team that is invaluable. One of Pressleys moans was we were very quiet as a team.

TM knows leaders and organisers on a pitch is invaluable if you are to win things. It also helps the likes of RCC, Phillips, Haynes, Stokes, Fleck, Murphy, Madderson, Armstrong...that is the message.

Well if he is anything like ricketts and vincelot in terms of his leadership then he is a good addition even if he is slow and can't head or pass

If he's not the quickest, hopefully he'll be experienced enough to read the game to give him that head start he'll need.

He hasn't said he can't do those things, he is saying his voice organisational skills are the biggest Bassett at his age. Look at how TM said to Martin at the end of last season,
your job is just head it and kick it away. Others players are there to play the football.

Martin has been like a new signing since.

Still need a dominant centre half. I expect we can wait for a loan but TM will be still looking.
As it stands we have one not yet match fit centre half (Ramage) one due back soon centre half (Martin), one due back next month defender (Willis) and a bunch of full back stop gaps.

If you have an experienced, vocal player along side you, encouraging and giving you a call when necessary, it can help and lift your game. With these young boys in the team, players who have been around a bit can do just that, and help them out.
Sometimes we have shown naivety in some games where the opposition have used a bit of guile to bully us (particularly at set pieces) and get a goal. Another experienced head at the back, or for that matter, at the front such as Cole, may just give us the edge in these situations.
We are desperately short of bodies at the back, if Ramage is keen to come and play and TM thinks he will fit into his ethos then we should all welcome him to the fold.

TM's quotes later on are again amazing no panic nothing for the sake of it!

This is why I back him with Ramage signing!

A lot of managers (Pressley) should take a note out of his recruitment book!

If I was on a plane & both pilots passed out, but I saw Tony Mowbray heading up to take over the controls i'd pour myself another beer!

He's got this!

Yep in a sense it's obvious but it's really nice to get such an insight into how he's thinking and how managing a successful team is a little bit trickier in real life than on football manager
